Hi Natem

That is the official Kubota ripper for the L45. However, there is a posting on here from someone who has a Canadian L45 and a US made L39 -both with quick attach hoes - and it turns out that the Canadian and US quick attach hoe setups are not the same. My ripper is made by a Canadian company called H&H - I don't know who makes the US quick attach stuff. However I recall my dealer saying that the L45 hoe buckets and accessories are the same as for the KX121 excavator so you might want to check with your dealer.

I really like the L45. I started out with the B21 and upgraded to the B26 but really wanted the L45. I was a little concerned that the L45 would be too big but I have found it to be very manouverable and I really like the 10' hoe.

Regards,

Lauren

I'll have too look again this weekend, but I'm nearly 100% sure that my 110's backhoe bucket along with some of the quick connect parts are made by them! Be awesome to have contracts with both JD and Kubota:thumbsup:

Things are not progressing as fast as I would like Paul but the mechanic doing the work is German so he does everything in a careful, well thought out and professional manner - like someone else I know. ;)

Getting it done right is more important to me than speed.

Lauren

Well my friend, quality takes time. I'm sure he'll do a good job for you. Sometimes things need to be thought out before one can proceed. That's the way a smart tech works. Your going to have a very nice machine when you get it completed.
Enjoying the thread
Cheers. Paul

Thanks Mike. The dealer confirmed yesterday that the L45 cab install will be completed this week and a nursery near us is having their annual fall sale starting Friday so my wife and I will be loading the dumping trailer with vegetation to get planted in the area I have been digging out and re-grading for most of the summer. It looks like it will be cool enough Saturday and Sunday for me to appreciate the benefits of a cab.

As you can see, I haven't even scratched the paint on the ripper yet as by the time it arrived the stump I thought I needed it for I attacked with my 12" hoe bucket instead. It made a little larger hole but it didn't take long to patch it up with the L45. I don't know where in Ontario you are but I am near Orangeville and you are welcome to borrow the ripper if you need it.

As luck would have it Natem mbradey is the person with the US L39 and the CDN L45 so if you search for threads with him in them you'll find the photographs of the two different hoe QA setups.

I stopped at the dealer on the way home from work today and I continue to be impressed with the job the mechanic has done installing the rear remotes. It has been such a huge amount of work and customization that the Service Manager tells me that they will not do it again. The odd thing is that I don't at this time need the remotes but when the cab was ordered he and I agreed that the best time to install them was as the cab was being installed rather than later so that is why I ordered them. Here is a photo of the nice, out of the way location on the left side of the drivers seat under the floor where he has placed the hydraulic quick connects for the remotes.

They are supposed to be mounted at fender height on the right side of the tractor but that would have been a real PITA for me when on the backhoe. I am only 5'-10" but a lot closer to 300 lbs then I would like to be so the more room on the backhoe perch the better for me. All of the Laurin TLB cabs have an optional backhoe enclosure that needs to be ordered separately if you want to operate the backhoe in climate controlled comfort. I had thought that I could leave it in place if I was to use the 3 pt hitch but as you can see in the photo below it is actually attached and supported by the backhoe with brackets around the two upper pin bosses that attach the hoe to the tractor. There are two clips at the roof that you release and when you remove the backhoe the enclosures tips away from the tractor with the enclosure. There is a separate metal panel that then is installed to fill the void where the backhoe pedestall is and then you remove the rear window from the backhoe enclosure and install it above this bottom panel.

I hope I am not boring you all with this process but I thought it would be good to document for those who might be considering a Laurin cab installation. I'm looking at you Martian! :)

Here are a few more photos. I think all of the hard work is done now - they are just working on installing the factory lights on the Laurin extension brackets and I have asked them to install two additional rear work lights so I can better illuminate the sides of trenches when working in the dark. Then they have to do the 200 hour service and she'll be ready for winter. I am really looking forward to loading her in the trailer Friday evening or Saturday morning and spending some quality time on the seat out of the weather this weekend.

Regards,

Lauren

That Laurin cab is a beauty, makes the L45 look even more efficient

Will you be using it commercially ? I bet it could pay for itself quicky if you are located fairly close to a few small to medium sized towns.

Congrats, that is a fine looking tractor.

I have Cab Envy.

Also Remote Envy

But my heavily worked old L39 is at the moment a bit cleaner than your nice L45.

Pressure washer time!

Thanks guys. I do some commercial work with the L45 but just as side jobs. It is way more tractor than I need for my one acre property so I do side work to make the payments. I work as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects so I often have a use for the L45 on site.

I thought those pictures were grainy enough Mike that people wouldn't notice the dirt and dust but the L45 definitely needs a good bath. I'll take care of that and all the excess grease on the joints when I get her back home.

Regards,

Lauren
