Hi gang. I've been in the market for a used compact tractor for about the past 6 months. I have read this forum for a long time, and gained a lot of valueable information about the type/size tractor I would need. Well, this weekend, I purchased a 1995 855 with 70A FEL. I live on 5 acres in N. Florida, with 2 acres of bahia grass, and the remaining 3 in overgrown brush. Of course, now, I have a couple of questions, so I figured I would make my first post.
The first big problem with the tractor is that the entire 3pt hitch assembly is missing. I believe the tractor was used for hauling manure carts and the swing arms were getting in the way...so they removed them. Do I have to use JD parts to replace the hitch, or are there aftermarket companies that make them? I dropped the tractor off at the JD dealer and am waiting on a quote.
The second question involves implement size and I have found information on here about it, but just want to confirm. I'm going to be doing some light bush hog work as well as light box blade work. I'm thinking about getting 5ft widths in both items.....do you think this will work?
