JD 3520, previously JD 755
My new JD 3520 arrived yesterday. I'll add more photos as time permits.

If you want to see a picture of any particular detail, just ask. I found I couldn't find enough pictures when I was researching what to buy - there was always something I wondered about just out of camera range.

Love the cab and the wrap around grille guard. Color is great too !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like building attachments and metal projects. When it comes to tractors I just have to have a couple new ones to stare at. I might have to take a closer look at the new Deere's. Enjoy !

the wrap around grille guard

Thanks, Agent Blue. I just happen to have a photo highlighting the grille guard. :)

It's my first cab tractor - whole different experience ahead, I guess. It even has a "new car (tractor) smell" in the cab and mouse fur on the headliner - they've come a long way from Waterloo Boy.

I got iMatch and the top'n'tilt package after 14 years of wrestling with implements that needed manual hookup on my little JD755.

Today I spent some pleasant hours fiddling and learning how to use iMatch on a stiff new MX5 cutter. The job should have taken a minute or three, but it eventually involved a crowbar. It will be great once the clearances loosen up a bit. I tried it later on the new box blade and things went much more smoothly. The MX5 is far heavier than the LX4 cutter it replaces, as expected.

Photos attached of the cutter and box blade - shiny green, and not a mark on them yet. Oh, the driveshaft resting on the box blade belongs with the cutter - it just happened to be there when the picture was taken.

Thanks, guys - looks like I'll be in good company.

I had mixed feelings losing my JD 755. It served me well for 14 years. The 3520 is in a new league for me.

Here's a photo of the old and new together.

Aigeezer,

Nice rig there! How do you like your I-Match system so far? I have been thinking about getting one. I have looked at them, but was wondering if you have to buy the bushing kit for each implement that you want to use?.

I know you didn't ask me, but for me it is great. I regularly switch between implements and prior to having the iMatch it could be a lot of work. It is so quick and easy now. Well worth the money. They are actually fairly cheap. That's my opinion for what it's worth. And yes, you do need a bushing set for each implement. Their not much more than $8 a set.

You're not planning to get dirt on that shiny new thing, are you? :D

Congrats! I know how thrilled I was with my 'new' (2005) 3120 TLB, not sure I'd survive the excitement of a brand new machine.

Great looking setup! I got my 3320 about 2 months ago and love it. The 3 series tractors seem like the perfect size. I also got the MX5 bushcutter and have been impressed. Let me know how you like it.

After wrestling with a few different implements, I quickly found the iMatch would be worth the money and purchased one. It's been nice to back up and hook up in a matter of seconds.

How do you like your TNT kit? I was thinking about getting one. Where did you get yours?

Thanks!

Congrats. I went from 755 to a 3320 and it was night and day! Extra ponies of a 3520 is another plus. I always was amazed at what I could do with the 755 so I'm sure you will be in the same boat and then some!

Nice looking ride. Congrats!

Ummy! Congrats!

I vote for Imatch too. I set up all my attachments to fit it and once that's done changes are easy.

Sooo, a driveshaft equipped box blade. I heard Deere was experimenting with new ideas and a few " select " buyers would get them to try out. You lucky dog ! You can tell us.... how does it work and can we modify our last years model to the same specs ? I won't tell anyone. :)^)

Geezer;
Thanks for the picture of the grille guard.. Now I feel obligated to update mine. Wouldn't you know after it is shiney painted and working fine the new style appears out of no where. I have been making some trails and moving brush. It crossed my mind several times to protect the expensive hood / lights.

Aigeezer,

How do you like your I-Match system so far?... wondering if you have to buy the bushing kit for each implement that you want to use?.

Sorry, Whisper35, I didn't see your post until now.

I wondered about the same thing. The short answer seems to be "no". It's easy to grab bushings from an unused implement and put them on - sort of like moving drilled pins from one to another. It's convenient to have them on each implement ready-to-go though.

At this early stage, I'm not wild about the iMatch. I also wasn't wild about the Pat's Quick Hitch I bought for my old JD755. In both cases, the problems might be just new-gear stiffness and my lack of experience, so... ask me in a year. For now, it isn't saving me any time but it definitely is saving me some physical grunt-work manhandling implements into position. Many of my implements are older and may not be iMatch-compatible, so I still have to see whether that is a big deal.

So far, the top'n'tilt seems to save my bacon when I use the iMatch. Without it, nothing lines up quite right and I imagine I'd be back to wrestling implements around, half-an-inch at a time. My implements sit on gravel or on blocks on gravel, not on a level concrete floor, so no doubt that is part of the problem.

There's definitely a learning-curve and coordination issues in play and (he adds sheepishly) I'm no longer young so maybe those are the main issues.

Thanks, Greatlakes37. I got the TNT with the tractor as an option from Deere. Since I was getting the tractor new, I didn't really investigate aftermarket choices. I love it so far but it's very early days yet. I haven't even used it yet for the main reasons I got it (adjusting the box blade angle from the cab and tilting a blade to control runoff on paths and driveways). So far, I've used it mainly to micro-adjust the iMatch for implement hookups and it's been really great for that. It's surgically precise and of course I can stay in the seat to adjust things. The extra switches take a bit of getting used to, but that's to be expected.

The extra switches take a bit of getting used to, but that's to be expected.

Here's a photo of the switch panel. To activate the hydraulics for the TNT, you turn on the switch labelled in Roman numerals II/III, the one with an image of a gear and a book on it! It sounds ridiculous when I put it like that, but the icons actually make perfect sense once you get used to them. Once the switch is activated, the loader joystick controls the TNT instead of the loader.
