New Holland TC45DA PTO issue

When preparing to start tractor, pto light on dash comes on, making it impossible to start the tractor until pulling back on pto lever till light goes out. The lever tends to slip out of the "disengaged" notch on the control panel. This happens probably 75% on the time on startup. PTO itself does not actually start even though the light is on. Does anyone know if there is some adjustment I can make to keep that light off until I turn on the PTO?

If I remember correctly, the adjustment is on the safety switch mount. I'm going by memory though.

Thanks for the quick response. But can you explain where the safety switch is and how to access it?

If you follow the PTO lever down, you'll see where there's a flat spot on the lever that hits the switch. It's pretty close to the tire and I found it easiest to access it from behind when there's no implement attached. To do much with it, you'll have to get under the tractor.
