Just found this site last week while I was researching buying a new tractor. I have a few smaller New Holland tractors and last Thursday I bought a new
TC55DA w/EHSS. I familiarized myself with the tractor this weekend.....very very nice performance and I cant wait to pull a set of discs with her.

I own a land managment company in Maryland and primarily we create and plant food plots for wildlife, particularly deer. I do this mostly for private hunting clubs in the area, along with planting warm season grasses.

Great site....lots of good information here.........

Great looking tractor and welcome. I have just gotten into planting food plots again, for deer, turkey, and cover for the birds that I release on my dog training areas. We hope to plant some switch grass this year and get rid of more multiflura rose. Good luck with your tractor.

Thanks. If anyone has any questions pertaining to food plots, I would be happy to field them. I work for Tecomate as well

when I was active in food plots I found my self wanting a bigger tractor of course, is this big enough for you? what is you typical plot/job size?

The majority of my food plot plantings are anywhere from 1-3 acres in size. I have been doing jobs this size for several years with a TC33D and TC40. I wanted to get a tractor with a little more hp at the pto for pulling larger disc harrows and the larger 3pt rototiller I just purchased.

Most food plots are better suited in the smaller size(under 3 acres). Larger farm tractors are unable to maneuver effectively in the smaller sized fields I till. This TC55 is about the largest I can use in my applications without sacrificing maneuverability.

One other thing........ This is the largest tractor that I can move from job to job on my trailer with ease. Anything larger would become difficult.

So if your typical day is going to one job only to knock out 1 to 3 acres from sod busting to planting you did good. My jobs were typically 5 acres. I would go back to them in jan-feb and you couldnt find a kernel.
