I recently purchased this grease gun to leave at home with my latest tractor. I like that it’s one handed as opposed to my old one. The problem is that it won’t let go of the zerk unless I sort of angle it to kind of pry it off. Im afraid I’m going to break iff the zerk. Is this a fault in Kioti zerks or this gun? Or will it eventually wear in?

x2 on lock and lube fitting, there's no going back.
My old lever gun adjusts as Mikester states.

Thanks. Ill look into the possibility of adjusting it first.

Not all tips are adjustable
It is a well kept secret. Even my parts/tool store friend did not know that, and he has worked at or owned the store his entire working life.

I used to think I didn't need a Lock n Lube, and that they were too expensive. Then I bought one. Now, I wonder why I waited so long.

I was not aware of adjustable tips until a friend showed me one a few years ago, they work pretty nice but if you get grease on your fingers it’s pretty difficult to adjust the tip. I bought one of those small grease guns from Harbor freight and it came with an adjustable tip, the rest of the gun was about useless because it leaked grease around the plunger, I wound up throwing it away and moving the adjustable tip to one of other grease guns.
Locking tips are nice I have one but there are plenty of places on my equipment they simply won’t work so you wind up using two grease guns on some equipment.

You can buy narrow Lock n Lube types for recessed zerks

I try to remember to loosen and exercise the jaw retention cap on the grease gun fitting BEFORE i push it on to the Alemite greaser.

If I can get a straight push onto the greaser, I don't rely on the jaws at all.
Of course, this does not apply to whip hose grease guns, only solid pipe type.

I bought an old tandem disc on auction for a food plot (it was actually a lawn ornament). At first, 2 of the axles were frozen. I managed to grease most of the zerks, but not all and got it freed up. It was difficult to get the grease gun lined up, and more than a few times I had a big gob of grease spill over. I could not get 2 zerks to take grease at all.

I bought a LocknLube and it effortlessly greased those 2 zerks. Sometimes you find something that costs more than you think it should, and you find out it is worth every penny. It paid for itself on that disc alone. ( I paid $80 for that disc and it works great)
