New Gator pricing?

Hello all,

I have been looking at purchasing a new John Deere Gator 625i and have some pricing questions. What type of discounts have some of you got and how was the "shipping charge" put into the equation? I have bought tractors and lawn mowers and never had a "shipping charge" on the invoice or even mentioned.

One would think there is some margin in a $11,000 product that could be passed along to the consumer? Or are these a product that just sells itself with high demand and little room to negotiate?

From my experience there isn't a lot of room there....you might save $750 ish but that seems to be about it.....around here you can check every dealer and the price is going to be the same.

I bought a 8251 a few months ago and priced it on the JD site with the options I got it come to 13000. I ended up paying 10,800. JD had a small rebate at the time but I was able to negotiate the price. I have two dealers relatively close so that was an advantage. Great machine I think you'll love it

I have found a few dealers that are willing to discount a bit approx. (6.75%) off list and get rid of the shipping charges ($400). I will have to pick up myself and that is no problem. Just not what I feel is a great deal. I was hoping 10% off list would be something attainable and fair to the dealer, but they act like they only get 10% off from Deere themselves?

Another thing that often sweetens the deal is if you plan to get accessories they often will toss them in.....things like a Poly Top or steel CV guards. It's easier for the dealer since they don't pay retail and you get the goodies you want.
