New garage time!

I've been pre-drilling the siding on my barn. A 1/8" bit and you can go through at least 14 26 gauge sheets at a time. Just buy a handful of drill bits as they will break after a while.

Never predrilled mine.

I never had either. Then i watched my builders do it on my shop. The accuracy and efficiency gains were amazing. Made me feel kinda dumb for having never thought of it. :)

I use to drill the holes. Then used an awl and hammer. Now if going into wood I just use the felt tip since the screws go through the tin so easy.
Make yourself a story pole with the hole locations. Much quicker than using a tape measure.

I knew there was a better word than stick. Mind getting old I guess

Never predrilled mine.

I never did until I did the carport earlier this year. Depending on the metal, some were easy to just push a bit harder with the self drilling screws, some a quick tap with hammer. An I usually used a story pole or a string.

Finished the one side and started on the back. Predrilling is great but man I go through bits fast. It's 18 or 20ga, 8 sheets at a time. I just went to my hardware store and bought every 3/32 bit they had. Lifting in the back is tougher than the side, but not terrible. Measure and cut every time slows us down.

When the metal goes up, you kind of feel like the end is near.

Looking GREAT!

Huge dedication on your part for keeping the build going FatJay!

Finished the back, fun cutting everything. But started with 293" and then 3" every section because it's a 1:12 roof and 1'=12" and 12/4=3 as it's 4 sections per 12' run. hard to explain but the math worked in my head AND on the garage. The we moved the scaffolding over to the middle and set the pump jacks up. I hate moving that scaffolding.

Wow, great work wrangling those massive sheets! Good color choice, too.

Am I the only one who is still a bit stunned that you didn't put any windows in upstairs....?

Wow, those are some tall "two-men-to-handle" wall panels!!!

I live about 150 miles from you Jay...

When I look south by south-east, I think I can see your new shop from here...

Who would wash them?

I’ll be adding that stuff later. I’m up against the wall with budget at this point. I was already maxing out buildingprice before the lumber prices went insane.

Maybe some recycled stained glass windows from an old church or castle?

Cutting around the doors was tricky. We couldnt' do it on the ground because we depended on the stability of the panel to lift it up. So we marked it, lifted it up strait, then I screwed it to the wall a foot off the ground while my buddy cut it on the ground. Really wasn't sure how that would work out, but it worked pretty good.
