Metal roof, all the trim and soffits, and siding have been ordered. I’m not stopping for the winter.

I missed what type of siding you are doing? Did you get an ETA on it?

I just got my house wrap and vinyl siding up last weekend. First time I ever did vinyl siding. It's a piece of cake. I watched several hours of videos in the weeks before I attempted it. Only needed my wife's helping hands to get the first piece started on one side. Once I figured it out, it was a one man operation. Now I need to do the soffits and doorknobs. Then I'm done.

I had to wait 7 weeks for the siding to come in. And that wasn't special order.

Good luck. Hope the weather holds out for you. Went from 70's to 40's this week here.

Roof and trim is delivered on friday. siding not sure yet, they're supposed to let me know this week.

Had a pretty rough windstorm tear through last night. Some of the tyvek came loose so I'll have to repair that.

Yeah, my daughter in Pittsburg said they had 70mph gusts and many power outages yesterday.

When I put up our house wrap, I used plastic cap nails per the manufacturer.

Perry Iowa had some wind damage Sunday also. I hope this isn't becoming a new thing to live with.

We've had a very windy year. You worse than me. Calling for 40mph wind Wednesday.

I don’t see tyvec tape on the bottom or the upper over lap joint to. This is to make the seal.

Got some pump jack extensions so we could screw them to the roof. Siding is here next tuesday or wednesday. Doing trim stuff and soffit. I absolutely hate soffit. And I hate tin snips. And cutting soffit. Looks great, i hate it.

Short video of what I did 30 times today. https://i.imgur.com/kSNajqm.mp4

Every time we needed something, or something fell, I'd need to climb up on the roof and then go down the scaffolding. My arms/legs are jello at this point.

Just curious as to why you put the soffit up and then moved to the next side before putting the siding up on that same side? Seems like double work with the jacks and all. Not criticizing, just curious.

Siding isn't here yet. There was a delay, the machine was damaged and needed repair. It's fixed now though. Those panels are the roof panels.

You would not get me up on that roof. Heights and I don't get along. Jon

What's worse is when the pump jacks are half way up and I'm on the roof so I have to slide down to get there.

Loafers are in now. :)

I usually wear loafers when working anywhere off the ground, the sandals aren't very secure.

You have your own fireman's pole. LOL Jon

Needed to use my vice, but needed a place to clamp my vice. So I built a workbench. Steel is much less forgiving than wood. One leg was a little short. I figured it would settle, but even with me sitting on it, no go. It was heavy, Standing it up was a challenge but actually flipping it took about everything I had.

Might be some variation in the concrete also. Easy fix is square piece of flat steel slid under the short leg and welded. Double stack if needed.

Nice job !! You always have the ability to get things done on the fly !! I have the same welder. Do you use the Argon gas with it or just use the plain wire ?
