I caught part of American Pickers last night, the Sprinter is replaced by the new Transit. It looked huge in comparison.

That is a huge marketing win for Ford. Assuming they are probably leasing the truck to them for a buck a year, think of the exposure. By the way, behind the scenes these guys show up with about 5 other vehicles. They were at a friends shop last year. He told all his buddies they were going to be there .."on Friday". well I stopped by on day before and blew buy two young guys who were at the counter with headphones on- I assumed they were listening to tunes or something (not unusual to see different guys in the shop. they yell out-"whoa can't go back there we are shooting". So I went out back of shop and there were all the "support" vehicles-including the Sprinter. One of the guys then told me he told everyone the wrong date because he didn't want every yahoo showing up trying to get there mug on TV!

That new Transit is a good looking huge truck, I wonder if that one has the new five cylinder power stroke.

I don't think so- I don't think they will be building any Power Strokes until latert in the year. If yoiu go to the BlueOvalnews website, click on forums you will find plenty of info and pictures of the line in Claycomo Mo.

I have a new Sprinter. The 4cyl version. I waited and waited ...and waited for the Transit. Couldn't wait anymore. I imagine the Ford will have more creature comforts than the MB, as the Sprinter is pretty sparse. The last I spoke with the dealer, the diesel Transit Wes going to be slow to get released. And even with the EB engine, I can't imagine the Transit will do much if any better than 17 mpg. If the diesel version pans out I will be in the market again in about 3 years. Hopefully by that time Ford will have worked out any gremlins.

I'm sure that American Pickers is a test venue since this has to be a preproduction model. Not to mention the exposure Ford gets with this vehicle out on the road. I also believe Ford is a sponsor of the show, maybe even "official vehicle".
