Glad you have had great service from the Tacoma! But is that any surprise? Toyota has always been dependable and trouble free above all.
Thank you ,
I am 65 yrs old and out here in the country I have had different GM products and Ford Products back in the 1980's my first new pickup was a Dodge D50 , the Toyota Tacoma has them all beat in reliability and longevity.
The most costly and biggest money pit that I ever had was a 1999 Land Rover Discovery .

Agree that automakers (all of them, not just Detroit) are jerking people around...limiting production runs to keep prices artificially high, limited options choices, etc.

Of the 2 alternatives you mention, couldn't pay me enough to own a toyota and Honda doesn't make what I want (real SUV or pickup).
I already have a 3/4 ton pickup. The two I mentioned would be grocery getters

We purchased new and used Honda's and Toyota's for years but then we quit. After those poor experiences we now have a 2019 ranger and love it. Its better (so far). We still have a Element here but its breaking down plenty at 150K.
If it was marked up $10K from MSRP for "market adjustment" would you have bought it?

My BIL is a big wig at Fords and he told me they are having serious issues with the engine and front drive in the full size Bronco's Bronco 2 is nothing more than a wannabe Ford Escape AWD.

For all you Jeep folks, what is the story behind the rubber ducks? Around here almost every Jeep has a bunch of rubber ducks on their dash.
I think the Rubber Duck is a girl thing what it means I do not know.

GM and Chrysler in 2008 to the tune of 17 billion. Ford didn't have it's hand out then but today, has the business model that thinks they are doing us a favor by letting us buy their overpriced product.

So, actually, the government made money by bailing out the automakers. I think it was a wise investment move.

The red and white one does not make me think of the original Bronco's. The Blue colored one and the black and white picture are the real Bronco's IMO when I was a kid back in the 1960's I remember an old farmer/ mailman friend looking at a brochure of the Bronco's when they first came out , he went and bought a Gold and White colored one at a dealership in Columbus Ohio then later he went back to Columbus and bought a Ford F 250 colored exactly identical in color to the Bronco he had already bought. He was one of these old boys who paid cash for everything and had the old 2 cylinder John Deere's..

Just googled the jeep duck thing.

It's called ducking and basically one jeep owner appreciating another jeep owners rig.

They were tough , why Ford quit making the small ones is beyond me , then they started making the big ones..why could they not have given the bigger oness a different name I do not know.
Now they have a small truck out that they call the Maverick...the original Mavericks were a true middle class family car that served the purpose and were practical IMO.

Mine started as a 302, three on the tree, but I changed out to a 302, .090 over, medium cam, 4 barrel, custom headers and exhaust. that was a bad ass in the day. Wasn't the best, but was never bested...

(done back in my youth mechanic days)

Ford does a lot of offroad testing up at silver lake dunes here in Western MI.

One day we were up there and it looked like they had one of those raptor broncos up there. Looks like the engineer was writing programs for it. He was on his laptop, inputting stuff and then he would take off up a hill. Back back down, get on his laptop and try again.

Thing ran pretty good up there.

They also had a lightning up there. Batteries were about falling out of it. Ford brings up a 1 ton chase truck for breakdowns. The chase truck stayed with the lightning.

Ford sells two "Broncos" at the same time.

Bronco
Bronco Sport

The "Bronco Sport" is a totally different vehicle than the "Bronco". The sport is still a capable vehicle but more of a family SUV, where the Bronco was more in the line of the original Bronco from years ago

I see all kinds of "Bronco Sport" on the road, which I'm sure the owners all tell themselves and everyone else they own a "Bronco"

I don't see too many "Bronco" on the road.

You can get "Bronco" with 7-speed manual which is rare in this day and age.

Love the looks of the new ones with the fender flares, factory lift, etc. As a former classic Bronco owner, I would want one. I'd buy one if they weren't a Ford.
