New floor pan

[Frustrated man]

Just purchased a new floor pan for my 2000 JD 4400 tractor. The first thing I noticed was the cut outs for the forward and reverse pedals are in the wrong position. It's a hydrostatic drive HST tractor. Am I correct in assuming that I will have to cut the holes to adapt it to work with my tractor or is it the wrong floor pan or maybe for newer tractors? The part number on the box is correct. Thanks
