Just picked up my new trailer. It's made by Cross Country Mfg. here in NY. It's a model 616DT8LP. Has a 16' long bed, 80" wide, 20" high sides.
GVWR is 13,800. Empty weight is 3300 lb. load capacity is 10,500 lb. Standard features include EZ lube axles, 7K tongue jack, Brakes on both axles, rubber mounted lights, Breakaway system, Stake pockets, Radial tires on white spokes, Lockable poly box for pump & battery, adjustable height hitch (2 5/16" or pintle), 15' corded remote, Diamond plate fenders, power up only.
My options include the extra deck width (80" compared to the standard 72"), Barn door style tailgate, spare wheel and tire, LED lights, Equipment ramps, Power up and down, HD scissor lift hydraulic ram.

And I even got an extra quart in case a school bus stops by. I actually thought it was something different since all my previous trailers have always been black.

Very Nice!

What type of hydraulic fluid goes in that trailer lift?

/ New Dump Trailer #5
Sharp. Personally I kinda like the yellow.

I haven't read through the paperwork yet as to the type hyd. fluid. I asked during pickup and they said it's plain hydraulic fluid.

The reason I ask; My TexasPride dump trailer uses "standard R&O Tractor Fluid" - whatever the heck that is - lol. I would have been happier to know what brand/specs was in it originally. Yours looks identical.

Yah, they were giving those trailers away with a two year membership to the gym in town the other day.......

;-) Nice!

Very nice George!!! It's nice to have a good "Toy Box" to keep your toys in! He....He. :). All kidding aside., that looks like a very nice well built trailer.

Wow nice trailer. I would interested in finding out what fluid the recommended in the Manuel. Apparently there are different thicknesses I have been wondering if that's why my FEL is slow. Cheap tractor supply fluid.
Sorry not to get off topic. Would you mind telling how much you paid and where in New York is this manufacturer located.. I need both a dump trailer and equipment trailer would be interested to ask them if they could build a 22 foot goose neck dump that I could put My TLB in

Just got done reading through the owners manual and there is no mention of the power hydraulic unit. I think they forgot to put that booklet into my envelope of warranty info for the trailer, tires, certif. of origin, registration paperwork, receipt, etc. I have Emailed the company to see if they forgot. If so, they will send it to me.

If anyone is interested asking questions the following is their info:

Back to the fluid question. I also have a 20' tilt bed trailer with a power hydraulic unit that I installed in 2006 when I converted (removed the manual hand jack) and added the elect. Hydraulic unit and new cylinder. I have used automatic transmission fluid in that since day one without problem. I also have a twin post lift in my garage that uses trans fluid as well. The fluid in the new trailer is not thick. It has the consistency of trans fluid (about 10W) but it's not red it's almost clear, maybe bluish tint like Meyers plow fluid. I would think any hydraulic fluid like used in snow plow pumps or trans. fluid would work. I'll let everyone know when I get an answer back.

Farmstart I'll send you a PM

It's nice when you can get your machinery into a dump trailer like that. I can barely get my skid steer into my 6x12 dump, but it works. A friend had his neighbor accidentally dump a load of stone partially into my friend's driveway last summer. The guy told him to keep the stone and do what he wanted with it. Friend's driveway is pretty tiny so he gave me the stone. It was nice to scoot over there with the Bobcat in the trailer, load the stone and bring it home for my driveway.

OK, Was checking out the trailer further this morning and found the tag right on the tank for types of fluid. ATF is on the list. Just depends on the temperatures in your area. Here's a pic of all types of fluids you can use.

Makes sense. Last summer I changed the fluid for the hydraulics in my Altec bucket. They recommended the ISO 22 so I bought 10 gallons and changed it along with the filter. It didn't seem to be real easy to find locally, so I bought it online at ISO VG 22 Oil, Hydraulic Oil - Cold Weather Oil
As I recall, it arrived fairly quick after the order was placed.

Made and installed a spare tire mount bracket today. Also installed a solar battery charger on both of my larger trailers.

Very nice trailer. I would take it and have it weighed, for as heavy duty as it looks I think the empty weight would be more. A friend of mine has a 16' 14k gvw and it weighs just under 5k empty.

The 3300 lb is the empty weight listed on the certificate of origin direct from the Mfg. All paperwork says GVWR is 13,800 with a load cap. of 10,500 which would be right subtracting the 3300. I'm sure since they are the builder they must have a scale to weigh them for ratings. I bought it direct from the Mfg.

I like the solar charger, please keep us posted on how well it works. Thanks

I bought them from HF for about $15 ea. They are rated at 1.5 amps. I would guess during the high noon sun. Sometimes my trailers may sit for a while and this should keep them topped off and put less strain on my truck to charge them after hooking up.
