New car oil change interval

For the sake of argument? Some trucking companies have No oil change intervals( Consolidated springs to mind)!No drain plugs on the oil pan! Because of EPA rules and the fact they can't sell there shops because of waste oil tanks in the ground, the fear of ground polution, they don't have any!

There is a preasure bleed of oil into the injection pump so 2 qts. (of the correct API service level)oil every time you fuel up. Change filters every 12000 and oil sample every 100,000.

No slimy oil drain area, no oil holding tank,no ugly dirty drain pan, no 30-40 cent charge per quart to pick up waste oil, no fuel tax on all that "free" high btu fuel.

Filters go to the incinerator,metal is recclaimed. Truck @ 1,000,000 miles goes to truck Valhalla or,Mexico.

They have some real winners working there. I'm ASE L-1 certified so I pulled a decent hourly rate. They have a lot of guys working for $7.00 an hour, flat rate! We had one guy who would always forget to add the oil after an oil change. Always! He'd pull cars out rattling and ticking to beat the band and never notice something was wrong. I got to where I'd go force him to drop the car and add the oil right after I saw him pull the drain plug, I was the one who'd have had to stick a junkyard motor in the car and then hear the lip out of the customer. I think I tried twice in the early part of my career to fudge a plug and those plugs were always the ones that were fouled so the cars never got out the door. That cured me of that bad habit before it could become a problem.
