Hi, I was hoping to surprise you all with photos - the dealer has three BX25's enroute from Ontario, due to arrive at the dealer here on Monday. I have put money down on one and hope to have it on Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm having a thumb and hooks on the buckets installed. I'm pretty excited!

I can barely think straight - it's here at the dealer and he'll put the thumb and bucket hooks on and bring it out tomorrow. I'm building two cabins for the kids and am trying to get them ready for roofing so I can slow down a bit and enjoy the machine when it gets here. I'm resisting the urge to make an excuse to drive into town......

Hi
All

Looks like Kubota started shipping these BX25's on 07/16/08. I am not scheduled to get any till 09/30/08. I am trying to get that date moved up. My rep says I may be able to get some next month.

Here is the new BX25 just delivered to my place. Have not had much of a play but the forward and reverse is very smooth now.

I'm loving the BX25 - the trouble is though, I don't have much to compare it to except in my research into specs, stats and opinions here on the net. The only other machine I have driven was the Bobcat CT122 (Kioti) I had on demo for two days. I saw the BX24 at the dealer and seems to me that the BX25 looks identical to the latest version of the BX24. The differences are not visual.

The first thing I did was drive it back and forward. There is no jerk - that is excellent news for my dodgy back. The second thing I tried was the loader operation at idle - that is nice too. The seat surprised me - I expected a seat the could have it's back adjusted. It cannot - I'm not sure, but it looks like the seat from the latest BX24. It's fine though. The engine is the D902 - I am told it has been modified to comply with Tier 4 emissions. You know, I feel that, if I am going to be running around on this extravagance the least I can do is cough up the extra to get the cleanest machine I can.

The fenders are metal, the deck has been made stronger. The 3pt hitch arms arms are an option I ordered at $229 - who knows how long it will be before I even take the hoe off though but I thought I might as well have them.

I had a Wallenstein thumb installed - as that is the one the dealer sells. I had them box in the top lip of the loader and fit three chain hooks along the top. The welding is pretty messy but it'll do fine. There's also a hook put on the back of the hoe bucket. I plan to use these to reduce any lifting I need to use my back for.

One thing to watch out for, I read a post about someone saying their bx24 had barely any oil in the front axle so I decided to check all my fluid levels. The front axle dipper is dry - there's something in there but not enough to register. The level of the machine seemed OK but I will double check today. Check your levels on new machines.

That's it for now,

Pete

Glad to hear they fixed that. It does not bother me any more since I have adjusted to it for the most part, but I can see how it could be really bad for some. I wonder if the components for the 25 that allow for upgrades will be available for retrofit on a BX 24 model. So if the HST ever goes out ( god forbid) will the replacement take care of the abrupt stop problem and similar for the hydrolic pump. Time will tell.

Well, I have 6 hours on the machine now and am happier than ever with the machine. It really is beautifully made. You can stomp on the pedals between forward and reverse and it will change direction smoothly. I like that. Again, being able to lift the loader, with a load, at an idle is good. I think most of the other differences were already built into the last version of the BX24. I do like the idea that I have the most emission friendly engine I could.

I am the envy of the hood right now. I am offering myself out at $50 an hour and preparing to trade favors. One neighbor is going to get me 300 feet of underground 200 amp cable, so I can stop mooching power from my brother next door, and I'll dig a trench for him. Great! Then I can put a hot tub in to help with my back problems.

For me, the new model was worth the extra money.

Petethenomad is the seat the new one too, with the reclining back like the BX2660? Nice machine and I can't wait to get one.

No, the seat does not recline - to me it looks the same as the latest BX24. Too bad. Maybe because it has to be turned around to use the backhoe. I wish they had made the back a little more upright at least.

Wow! I actually had two show up today. They must be comming ahead of schedule.

How about giving us the definative low down on these, and clear up the speculation. Pictures are also very good.
