Folks,

I've got a (used) B7500 last April and it appears it's getting time for a new battery -- beginning to see a little 'drag' on starting (admittedly, on cold days - i.e. S. GA - so we're not talking extreme cold - 30s or so). The battery in it is an Interstate (I assume this is a replacement for the original battery that came with the tractor).

I'm simply making a request of the 'collective wisdom' here on the forum. What brand do folks feel is a good choice?

Thanks in advance (TIA),

One of the advantages of living near a small town is that I'd take the old battery to "Bob the tire guy" (who also does batteries) and say "I need a replacement". He'd put one on the counter and say "here you go". I'd pay for it knowing that I've both supported a local business and purchased a battery of reasonable quality that Bob will stand behind. I don't even ask how much. After almost 20 years, he has not yet let me down. Do you have a "Bob" in your town?

Whats ever on sale. My Kubota is half the size and only 2 Cyl. It requires 15sec glo plug on cold start up, even at 70F. Still I have gotten away with a $15 walmart lawn tractor battery for the last three years. Point is, I only occasionally use the lights, otherwise battery is used just for starting. Lead Acid batteries life gets shorten by number of cycles below 50% charge which should be rare on a tractor with no electrical demand. (unless you leave the lights on)
