Here are my girls having fun driving the mule on the property around the barn.

Here's the floors. The one will be for the office and the other one will be to saddle, groom and wash horses and work on equipment.

Grant,
NO I don't hire out. Just kidding you. You're close enough though I sure would come down and help you some weekend when you get started though. I see you have the new signature up for your tractor. How do you like it?

Richard,
Thanks for the offer, I might just take you up on it. I really like those ready built stalls. For the price of lumber and time to build your own you could approach the cost of ones like yours. On our next barn I'm going with the ready made kind.

I'm guilty of premature signature changeover....my new one just arrived at the dealer in the crate and I should get it Tuesday. Here's an example about the dealer I was talking about in another thread. The new tractor came in 5 days late so I called before knowing it was here and suggested I come over this weekend and borrow his rental unit for free and mow pasture with it. He said no problem but then I found out mine just got here and decided to wait a few days and just use my new one.

Cowboydoc,

Mighty fine looking barn! Those rafters over the horse stalls look kinda heavy. Is that a wide span or am I missing something?

SHF,
I thought that myself but that's what the plans called for so that's the way that I did it.

Cowboydoc,

Not to worry. You can't go wrong overbuilding. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif It occurs to me that those big old houses you see were all built with rough cut lumber and most of them have lasted a hundred years and will probably be here a hundred years from now. The new stuff with milled 2x4's--well, the jury's still out.

Much better to build a little heavier and not have to worry. That barn should last you a long time. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

The barn or the head?
It is an axial "slice" the equivalent of about 5mm through the middle of someones head. I removed the text to protect the innocent!/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Richard,

Do you mind my asking how much you have in the new barn to date? Where did you get the plans?

Thanks,

Eric
