Wowsers on the weight of those Liberty Backhoes. 1250# for a 7ft 3pt mount?!? My 8B (8ft) with subframe weighs the same. The Deere 375 (7ft) weighs almost 200# less with a subframe.

I wonder what "prying power" is too. The 6ft is listed at 4000# but the two steps up JD 485 (8ft) has no digging force greater than 3730#. Sounds like they might be combing dipperstick and bucket forces together which is quite deceiving since you can't get full power from either if they're operated at the same time.

Looks like a standard case of you get what you pay for.

I did get a FEL, the 300X with the heavy duty bucket. For my purposes I didn't think the extra $800 for the 300cx was worth it.

Does the tractor need to be modified to allow for the subframe mount? Or does the mounting bracket already on the tractor?

Just go buy the real thing, you will be happy you did. I did this today with the Deere small backhoe. I've not yet gotten the monster out of the hole, but it is just a matter of time. I may have to dig out one side of the hole and slide it out.

I agree with everyone else. If you are spending the money for a brand new Deere with rotary cutter and and blade, spend the extra $2,000 for a backhoe that is made for your tractor. I would rather use an off brand bush hog than an off brand backhoe. I am tight with my money, but would never consider this 3pt hitch Chinese backhoe.

Congrats on the 3320! You have excellent taste! I wanted a BH for mine too, but couldn't justify the $8k as I can hire a guy to do that work on occasion for a lot less. Let us know when you get it! :thumbsup:

PT, I tried that and didn't get the BH on one of my tractors. The problem is you need to dig small hole, maybe 3 feet deep, or bury an animal and it's just not worth it to hire someone to do it. We had to bury a horse once and couldn't get anyone. Things got ugly in a short time.
What usually happens is you wind up digging holes by hand here and that's no picnic in our hard-pan.

A hoe is big bucks but it also saves us lots of work.

I agree 100%, After using a hoe and seeing the stress I would never want a 3pt. hoe.

Can't disagree with your opinion however after owning a hoe on my last tractor I can't imagine ever owning a tractor without one.

I thought that too until the well had an underground leak that we discovered on Friday night. Couldn't get a backhoe or excavator rented until Monday morning. They were all reserved for the weekend way in advance. And of course on Monday I could only get the smallest machine they had. Thankfully that was okay.

So though I only needed it for two hours..... we didn't have water for three days because I didn't have one.

For me it's not how much use it gets in a year, I don't evaluate my tractor that way, it's those times when nothing else will do and something has to get done. If I look back at the times over several years I used it, and the messes it has gotten me out of, it justifies itself.

I don't know about a Chinese hoe. I think in the long run it might cost more especially when you consider failures, parts quality, waiting for parts and if you can get them in five or ten years, etc. That with the fact that it's a 3PH hoe sinks it in my book.

Call JD for a part on a ten year old 8B hoe and it will be at your door in a day or two. What's that worth? A lot to me.
