It would certainly lift the round up to the splitter if your time isn't of concern and it looks to be more labor intensive to get the end result.

Deere Dude's solution is simple, cost effective and a back saver. I use the same principle as his and it works well.

...hydraulic log lifters are too slow....
If I remove the restrictor and don't feather the lever...my lift will toss a 200# round over the top of my splitter in a heartbeat...!

I can稚 lift that much either, hydraulic log lifters are too slow.

If I have to roll them around anyway I just get a pair of knee pads and flip the machine vertical. That way I never have to lift any wood until it痴 split into smaller pieces. When I can稚 do that anymore, it won稚 matter because I couldn稚 pick them up to burn anyway.

Not sure why you would think a log lifter is too slow.

Especially when you are willing to get on your knees on the ground and then have to pick the splits up to load.
