Need opinions 2016 Chevrolet 2500HD

Not a 2016 but rather than start a new thread on a 2500HD, neighbor offered to give me their 2003 GMC 2500HD 8.1 gasser. Not driven since 2017.

Fast forward.... new battery and it fired up in a half second. Moved it onto my propety.

Today's cleanup. 3 gallons of fir cone squirrel debris vacuumed out of the engine compartment and a LOT of elbow grease.

Regarding a 2500HD in general, these seem to be good trucks based on my recent experience and I am a Ford guy. So I would have no issues buying a 2016.

Wow, you must not drive that thing very much. My 2007 2500HD just turned over 58K miles.

That's me too. I put 18k mi on my '84 k2500 in 14 years from '85 to '99. Sold my (bought new) '99 K2500 in '17 with 38k on the odo. Bought my 2012 Silverado HD five years ago and have put gas in it three times. btw, IDK that any 2500s have had 6.0 with AFM. One can look up the RPO for the engine. It's should be in the VIN code.

Geoduck, The truck looks great and cleaned up very nice! I hope she continues to run and stays as strong as she looks now!

Working at a GM dealership I can see the problems that show up on all makes and models, not just GM. The 6.0 family GM gas motor found in the 2500 and Tahoe, Yukon are some of the most trouble free powertrains we have! They hardly ever have problems.
