Have two Branson 2017 2400H tractors. One has a skid steer quick attach and the other does not. The SL00 quick attach has a joystick with cables to the valve below. The cables keep sticking. Disassembled, cleaned, and lubed a few times and am still having issues. I would prefer a joystick/valve combo (like my other tractor) and was wondering if anyone replaced their joystick with a reasonably priced generic one, hopefully with float.

I have not but will. Is it just me but isn’t a combined joystick/control valve simpler and therefore more reliable than cable operation?

Cables can require more maintenance and or adjustment vs mounted joystick but base valves are typically very similar if not the same.

The cable/valve setup is easier to locate and place for the manufacturer.

Many of the cables are standard morse cables. I never figured out how to ID the different series though.
On a Kubota M108S I replaced a jury rigged setup using components from Buyers Products.
I used their B206305 dual axis joystick.
I mounted the joystick then measured and bought the cables.
For simplicity I bought it all off Amazon. I did have to drill the bulkhead holes out larger on the loader valve mount for the bulkhead mounting of the cable sheath. The Buyers cable have 1/4"-28 threads on the cable/rod and 3/4"-16 on the sheath. If you remove your cable and do some measurements you can see if it would work or not. If not they sell a few cable connection kits that might work.
Hope this helps!

I do not like the valve in the cab as it makes the cab darned hot and its louder. The cables are a pain and require maintenance, but are much nicer in my opinion.

The rocker plate is broken, which would be the cause of your sticking.

Thanks for thorough reply.

I saw a combined unit at Vevor. Is it worth a shot? But on my second 2400H its valve has the capabilities on the decal. Would Vevor’s do this?

The Vevor valve should do everything your current valve does. Check the specs for "Float", but if it is for a loader situation, then it does. Vevor products are very inexpensive Chinese products. From what I have experienced, they perform as expected, but don't expect to get parts is needed.
Also, you probably have to change your plumbing to accommodate the Vevor valve.

If you had to replace your loader valve do you have a preference?

If you end up going with a new valve, make sure you get the correct power beyond sleeve for that valve you get.

I don't have a Branson, but have you looked at Surplus Center?

I believe this is what I need. I wonder if it is vastly better than a cheapie from Vevor?

May be the same valve, but that will work.

Sorry for the delay. I did purchase a rocker plate and am thinking of buying cables too, before I go the whole joystick route. I am not at the tractor's location, but are there "stand-sized" cables as I cann ot find specs on the length of the ones I have.
If all that fails, I would go the combined JS/valve and deal with new hoses as they are weathered. The Surplus unit looks good. No idea about thread compatibility. Any other suggestions? I will call Scott, the Service Director in Rome, Atlanta, but he can be hard to get a hold of.
By the way, does anyone know if a Peruzzo Flail mower will fit a Harbor Freight quick attach?
Thank you
