NEED MULCHING VIDEO

Hey Guys! I have an excellent opurtunity to display my machine and cutter head at local fair/car show on the 9th. I would like to set up a TV and DVD player on a table beside it to better show what it is capable of but since it it is only 20 hours old and I don't have a video camera I was hoping yall could come to the rescue for me. I would prefer asv machine shots but all would be welcome.if you could e-mail them to me it would be helpful. thanks, ps any other suggestions?

Dirty, Hey there-ASV will mail you a killer DVD showing all their machines but doesnt have any Mulching action shots....

I recieved DVDs from ASV, Gyro Trac, And Fecon I believe all by going to thier web sites and requesting product info..Good DVDs showing some serious mulching except ASV.

Got My timber ax today....Cant run it till Tuesday since CAT is closed for the quick connects I need....BUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on the AXE! Bout time Let me know how that 257 runs it! I've already got 42 hours on the new beast! I'm hoping for a lot of leads from this "event". There is no one around here promoting their mulcher. there are a few around but no one marketing. Thanks for the info on the videos, i'll call them tues and see what they can send. BTW I KNOW what a LONG weekend feels like.

Hey Dirt. Quicky. Digital camera, shhots better video than you think. Shoot several clips and down load them to a computer and burn a CD. Video of your tractor would be best. Set the DVD to play a loop of the videos. Absolutely the best idea. It has worked very well for me. That is what usually catches everyones eye.

Congrates on your tractor and be safe. Your saleman should have a DVD of some sort, try that. That's where I got mine. I just set the loop on the timberax section.

Hey Guys

I have ordered an RC 100 with the 74" Fecon and Forestry Pkg. I to am seeking video to get my web site fired up before the machine (and payments) get here. ASV was no help. They have no footage. Fecon has footage with ASV on their DVD overview and the rep has been helpful in trying to get something for me. I will let you know and share once I get my hands on something. I will end up shooting my own once I get the machine and will help any way I can.

Thanks Mark. I found a local video productions company who will shoot @1/2 hour footage edit to 3-4 min, add whatever text, and music for $225. said he would spend 2-3 hours on it and would have chance to make changes. this includes a master dvd and all footage shot digitally. Does this sound fair?

That seems really fair to me. Every videographer or photographer that I have dealt with in the past had a minimum charge that was more than that just to show up. If the end result gets you the video footage that you need I think that is a bargain.

Let us know how it turns out. IMO, video is the most powerful marketing tool that we have in this business short of an actual demo. You just cannot describe how much work a mulcher can do without seeing it.

Well I have to say that I owe ASV an apology. Their marketing department called me back this afternoon and they have pulled together a DVD with mulching video of the RC 100 with the Forestry Pkg. I will let you know when I get it and gladly share with any of you guys who may need it.

Playing video is by far your best tool. It answers a ton of questions and lets you and the customer get to the price and scheduleing more quickly. You can describe these tractors all day long and someone still not get it, or watch two minutes of video and wala. Also from experience have your tractor there with you. Preferably at/in the booth area. Everyone thought I was selling the head at the show I did.

Hopefully I will get my tractor back from the shop tomorrow, alternator and more A/C work. If not I will break in a new one as a loaner. There choice.

Is your alternator and AC warranty work? You have an RC 100 right? Would you buy another one today?

You really seem to know your stuff. I am about to take delivery probably next Wed of a fresh off the line RC 100/ Forestry Pkg/ Fecon BH74 package and am interested in your experience with your machine.

Hey Mark.

Yes the alt. and A/C are under warranty. The A/C is rework, they can't find the leak. It takes about 3-4 weeks for all the refrigerant to leak out. I bought an extended powertrane and they are good about helping out with other little items.

Yes I would bye another one. For the money, power, and versitility they are still hard to beat. But for a soully dedicated mulching tractor there are a few other manufacturers coming out with new tractors that are attractive. But for the do everything machine I still like the 100.

I still think the perfect head for these tractors has yet to be discovered. I think the fecon is the best head for 100 out right now but I'm still looking. I have a few leads on two other heads that look promising, we'll see.

I very much like the forestry package ASV is using and wouldn't have another 100 without it, just not worth the money out of pocket for me to do now. I run my 100 personally and I usually keep it out of trouble. If I had an operator it would be a different story. Hired help is usually rough on equipment.

I think you will be very happy with your setup and I hope your dealer gives you good service. I have a super dealership and that takes alot of stress out of it.

I may also be jumping on the ASV scene since I SMOKED my CAT 257 HF Turbo due to the air inlet pipe came off in the woods while mulching-who knows how much dust/chips/crud it sucked up -and also now have TONS of blow by..running hot..3 days running the Timber Ax...Not what I need after chunking out for the head......This is gonna hurt....

Murphy's Law-and not a good week..........

Anyone look at the SR 80? it will match the head I just bought...Flow and PSI

Bummer, Sorry to hear about that.

I dont know where you are located, but the dealer that I purchased my RC 100 from is located in Mechanicsville VA and so far has been top shelf. Let me know if you need any contact help. There is Bobcat, Fecon, Deere, Cat, Case ETC... all within 20-30 minutes from here so shopping has been pretty easy. The internet has helped with shopping the deal once I made up my mind what I wanted.

I gave my 1 week notice Friday night. Went to a job today and a wheel came off my trailer. I think Murphy and the devil are one in the same. Pulled the other wheel off same axle and went home only to have my daughter call and say she heard something down by the trailer. Had FIL go look, one of the two tires left on one side flat. I hope 1 rim and 1 tire can hold half of 17k lbs. till I get home. Now I know Murphy and the devil are the same. Robbie

Mulching hard knocks - I have since broken a hydraulic fitting and then next day a line in the area of the quick disconnects. Highly recomend the gaurd Hahns makes for the area. Called this morning and was quoted $168 for it. Will be ordering it today! Sorry to hear about the cat, scott. especially after droping the $$ on the head. From what I've seen the SR80 may well be your ticket. Just consider an aftermarket type hydro-cooler and some armor. Robbie you should be fine for a short pull. Keep us informed of all updates.

PS anyone ever had trouble with the track hydro lines? Hans makes a guard for these as well.($220 a set) I can only imagine the trouble of changing one of these lines in the field

Mark, Robbie, Dirty thanks...Sounds like we need to find MURHY and MULCH him....lol.. Hard Nots is right and I guess things like this should be expected.well some things anyway-Engine is extreme example.Guys check your INTAKE systems and make sure your clamps are tight anywhere and everywhere from the Air filter to the inlet of the Turbo!!! heck even the outlet....Who knows how many R's that turbo is singing but I assure you it will suck in some unfriendly "stuff"...Looking like a NEW not reman complete engine assy with Turbo gonna taste like 7-8K...Installed...As bad as I would like a new machine I need to give this another whirl and WAIT .Also Cat has 2 new models the 287C not B and the 297C...287 comps to SR 80 and 297 comps to RC 100...Both High flow and Positive Pressure Cabs...I will be installing the loftness add on HYD oil cooler also ..Mo Money, Mo Money...

Hey guys. ASV has a guard for the quick connect area and I think was only 50-60$. Check and see. I have become very dependent on mine. If I use a loaner without one the first area a tree lands is on the couplings.

I have also seen Loftnesses aux cooler and it looks pretty good. You can't have too much cooling.

I second the SR70/80. Reported as having an excellent A/C. Also tracks system is ideal for mulching. Very open and will walk over debri keeping tractor very stable. Funny thing, the new big cat CTL is using the SR type track system. How about that?

Yes scott, while mulching today with my tractor wide open I too thought about checking the inlet system. Sorry to hear about all the expenses. There is nothing cheap about a mulching business!!!

I'm having my saleman bring a Loftness C2 out tomorrow and give her a whirl. I'm killing my poor timberax. Every job is 6" plus material somewhere.

I friend runs all cat equipment and a cat salesman took him to lunch and was bragging on the new big cat, talking about the positive pressure cab. My friend asked if he was ready to put money on whether dust would get in, he said NO.

FIL took trailer to the manufacturer today and they are loving on it. He'll go pick it up tomorrow. They siad no big deal and would fix for about 200.00. New studs and a wheel/tire. Not bad, they said they will get it a good once over while it was there. Good company!!

Robbie, guess what I ment to say was the area where the quick attach plate for the tools is, not the hose place on the arms. The two cylinders the high dollar asv forestry turned into manual latches. Charge you more and take sumthin away oh well. yes i do have asv's hose connector guard and it it well recommended I will be getting Hahns plates for the track motors soon too! they are cheap compared to all those hoses unprotected
