Mitsubishi 180D, Jinma 284 sold, Kubota BX2660, IH Cub, Case 580CK, Minneapolis Moline 4 Star (sold), TYM 574, Furukawa FX-040
I have a Eurotrac 180D that I believe to be identical to the Mitsubishi 180D. The starter is bad and would appreciate advice on removing it. I have it loose but can not be moved forward enough to swing it out. It hits the hydraulic pump. I am afraid if I loosen the hydraulic pump that it may not go back enough and have the same problem as the starter - neither can be removed without hitting the other. If someone has experience with this please tell me how to proceed. Thanks.

When you say Mitsubishi 180D, is this a D180 or a R180 or a S180 or a MT180 or the MT180H or the MT180HD ???

Oh and it was sold as the Shakti 180D as well.

Thanks for the downloads bmaverick. I appreciate having them. VST 180D is on the hood of the tractor. I am 77 and losing a lot of my courage taking on projects. I saw a video online of someone removing a starter on a very similar tractor but the starter motor itself was slightly different. It took me a few viewings before I noticed that the steering rod and hydraulic pipe below the starter was removed. This will allow the starter to swing down instead of away. I will let you know if this works.

I only had to take off the steering shaft at the bottom of the steering wheel shaft. The steering shaft would then swing over the left front wheel and give room for the starter motor to swing down and out of the engine.

AWESOME.

My Pa is 82 and has a Toro SCUT. He has changed the belts 3 times in 30 years. He may of been 77yo changing them the last time.

I hear you about taking on projects. The only ones I take on now are those that reduce my energy, food and transportation costs. Realizing how a person can refocus their direction to head off rises prices is a win-win event. Growing your own food to cover a year is incredible. Even 60 to 80 percent is a huge dent. You have a tractor, a PTO rotary tiller when you shop around is one of the best assets to invest in. Takes all the hard labor out of the picture for garden plots.
