Folks,

This is the "new" kubota hauler. You may need sunglasses (or better yet...a welding helmet) when viewing  . I need to come up with a paint scheme (quickly).

Since it will be hauling a kubota and my HS alma mater is "Orange and Black" it would seem to be a NB'er. Maybe I just need a few decals or some "flames" to go with it? Any suggestions...other than sell it?

Wow, great truck! Ex-highway rig I presume? Any character lines/details etc. from your tractor that would carry over to the truck? How 'bout black stripes on the orange, like tiger stripes?

Yeah-WOW that's really....orange....Better hope the neighbors don't complain about that one! ;)

I guess what you're asking is "since my truck is orange and my Kubota is orange, how can I reduce the somewhat overbearing orange look to my set-up"? :D

I think the best idea might be to paint the dumpbed black and decal your doors with a matching black color. Wouldn't cost too much and might break-up the orange monotony. We have an excavating company that has orange trucks with black beds & door decals and they look great. Kinda like "Halloween on wheels" :)

Here's my truck white with black dump:

You could go with an orange and a gray two tone lower to match the Kubota gray.

All good suggestions, but may end up looking kinda "punkin...ish". Whew it's ugly.

Perhaps I should've posted it over on the kubota forums.

Builder, that IH is a nice rig.

DD,
Did you pick that up from PennDOT? They usually have the crew cab so it can sleep six!!!

Since your Kubota is orange and so is your truck, embrace it for your business. Paint the truck a fresh Kubota orange, and make it part of your marketing. There's a landscaper around here that paints everything orange, trucks, tractors, trailers, skidsteers, you name it. He does decent work, but everything he runs is worn out junk. But it's all painted orange, and that guy gets more work than he can shake a stick at because everybody remembers those hideous orange trucks with his company name and number on them.

I see PDOT uses the same orange as CDOT. Just don't put Denver Donkey decals on it or the Steelers fans may vandalize it.

hehehehehe....actually truck came from "Jersey". I think it was either municipal or "parkway" service vehicle. I really love the way the decals were removed from the rear doors (with a screwdriver) It only had 57K on it, so I couldn't pass it up (despite the color). I think the camo seat covers I added contrasts the "hunter safety orange" nicely.

Hosejockey, you make a very good point. That's certainly one way to set yourself apart from the competition. There is no way to hide this bomb.

thanks all.

There's a landscaper around here that paints everything orange,

We have a landscape/lawn maintenance company in this area that has a bunch of step vans; all painted orange.

And I'd probably leave that truck orange, or paint it with Kubota paint. That way, everyone will recognize it.:)

I say keep it orange ! Back when i had company trucks, I had them painted corvette yellow. I always felt it was good to stick out in a crowd (unless of course, you were pulling up to a D.O.T. check).

Oh man, I love it. I'd throw some fresh Kubota orange on it to freshen it up and drive it proudly. I might even put a couple Kubota decals on it someplace like all the green bleeding JD lovers around these parts do!

If that colour was on a SuperBee you would be jumping for joy:D

They make trucks that way for id and for the "interesting" colour being a deterant to theft.
I think if you painted the box black, and maybe put a black stripe alone the bottom of the door it would look good.
Mine is an old city truck, she's not pretty but she does the job. Shane 100_1326 (Small).jpg

Eight....if they are small :D

You'd think that I'd get a break on the insurance..I thought that insurance companies charged more for "red" vehicles. I'd doubt anyone would WANT to steal this one.:)

Keep it orange and paint Jack-O-Lantern faces on the doors. Make each one different and put your name and employee names under them.

or not.

I do have to ask you have a Kubota that is orange would you consider painting it???????? i will assume no. So my question is what is wrong with colour of the truck?

I still think if you paint the box black and maybe black along the bottom of the door it would look great.
just my 2cents.

Well, I really do like Halloween anyway.

So my question is what is wrong with colour of the truck?

That much orange makes it look like I'm ready for a parade

I like orange for vehicles that might find themselves parked on a road because of the visibilty. It is also a great color to get attention. He just needs to paint it Kubota orange so people know it isn't a town/county truck (a two tone will accomplish that) and put his name either on the side of the doors or on the side of the box. What ever will get peoples attention.
