need help in identifying tractor

Hi, I just returned from a xmas vacation where I saw an old tractor sitting out in the weeds. I did not see any markings on it but the data plate was stamped 3947. I will attempt to attach a photo. Thanks for your help.

Looks like it may be an old IH W-9 with steel rears.

thanks guys. From the s/n it may be a 1942 W-6 or a 1943 W-9. It's located in HI so it may be left over from the military. Here's a picture of a W-4
