Has it always performed this way?

You didn't mention what else may be running while you're playing etc...you can download apps for finding and fixing memory leaks...

open the device manager and find the running processes and see what "might" be hogging RAM....

for instance...if you are running anti virus software...try killing the process and see if it makes any difference (you can disconnect the Internet connection while your shields are down)

Norris, I don't know the answer to your question, but as a veteran of many games of solitaire with actual cards while in the US Navy, I never thought of terms used to describe the game. I don't think I ever knew the names until I looked it up. I've listed some questions below. If you scroll down the page, you'll find the answers.

1. What is the name of the most widely played solitaire game?

2. When you deal the cards into seven columns on the table at the beginning of the game, what is that called?

3. The deck is placed above the columns on the left side. What is the stack to its right where you place cards face up?

4. When you turn up an Ace, you place it into one of four positions at the top-right of the playing area. What are these stacks on the Ace called?
