Yes, I've got stacks like that several places where I use the loader. In several turnaround areas I blow one direction, reverse and use the loader the other way. I can't stack any more on top and can't easily push the tops back with the bucket.

If I keep doing the same thing, I'll have to stack more snow in the turnaround areas, but then I'd have to trade my 1/2 ton for a Toyota or something. I figure it's time to reverse my pattern and blow where I stacked and stack where I blew. The nice thing about a blower is that you've got that option. Make a mistake in the stacking area you need with a blade, and there's little alternative except for the cleared area to keep getting smaller.

Now that you've got the blower, no need to worry. It does take a little to figure the best pattern for using the blower. And, after the initial fun of using the thing wears off, you can continue to take satisfaction in refining your pattern, or in my case realizing that it's time to change it. Yes, we did get your storm the next day, and still carrying about 1.5'. That's the one that finished off the usefulness of my stacks. The tractor just can't climb up the sides of them anymore.

I'm on my way over. I've got the morning snack covered, venison sausage, with crackers.

THOMAS & NATE, wish you all would stop making those references to venison chili, venison burgers and venison sausages!! I'm drooling on the keyboard!!

Pat,
I was just re-reading this and I realized what you said about the chute control. From that I take it the snowblower is rear, 3PH mount. How do you adjust the chute from inside the cab/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif? I guess sort of like the way I'm going to have to adjust the boxblade's tilt if I get one: climb off, set it, get back to work/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

What's the big deal about venison, anyway? We have so many deer out here I feed venison to the dogs!

Pete

PS: If you want a real treat, try venison fajitas with homemade tortillas!

Yearning for a bigger tractor!

I'll bet those venison fajitas are awesome.

This talk about venison made me realize something. I got 10lbs of venision in a freezer at a guys house (he owns the property and the camp we hunt on), and he just left for Florida and won't be back till end of April! Oops! Was to busy at work and for got about it. I guess more for the summer.

We got another 8 to 10 inches Friday nite. Forecast looks like snow ALL week/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif.

By the way, I like the Canadian stroy. Your in Stowe you should try living 15 min. from the border with a ski hill which is owned by Canadians.

Thomas,
Home made hash browns and venison steak

In the winter, when I was a kid we usually had a frozen hind quarter hanging outside on the back porch. Mom would go out with a hachet and chip off chunks for breakfast. They were about the size of a silver dollar and she would flour and fry them with salt and pepper and make hash browns. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Thomas, better fuel up the tractor along with the belly. Another snowstorm's brewin. Had to shovel off the roof yesterday. Ice dams caused a leak and later got the tractor unceremoniously lodged in a snowbank while piling snow. Daytona Beach in March is lookin better all the time./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Ahem, more snow falling. The Wife is getting upset with me because I've resorted to pushing bucketloads of the stuff over the embankment where her flower garden is. Last spring found a LOT of gravel in the flower bed, so this year I'm taking pains to keep the bucket a couple of inches off the driveway. Of course the Wife doesn't believe I'm being careful at all, and fully expects another gravel pit this year.

I really enjoy moving the white stuff around. The only drawback is when some flatlander comes barrelling up the hill while I'm trying to plow, and because of their incompetence at backing I have to interrupt the snow removal and get out of their way just so they can drive another 100 feet and turn around at the dead end. Our road is so narrow that if they get stuck, I can't go anywhere.

Had some real charmer drive up the road last night and make a right turn onto a cross country ski trail!!! Buried her little Toyota in the snow, and of course the rear was blocking the road. She was very upper crust, and snobbishly told me she had a shovel. No magic words. Just an imperial edict to get my peasant buns to work freeing her car. I told her I was happy for her, and hoped she knew how to use it.

Walked home and called the local wrecker. I like Willie. He triples his rates for people who do dumb things...like try to drive on ski trails. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Pete,
You could tell your wife the gravel and rock also helps the drainage plus stop erosion to her flower garden. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Maybe you better consider some snow removeal signs or orange highway cones before someone clips you...yikes.

Diesel up and dry your gloves for there another wet nasty mess headed our way tomorrow.

Okay you got to tell me how did you lodge your JD in the snow bank, /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif were you on some ice?

Ahhh man don't tease me about Daytona in March, for I can't make it this year. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Thomas,

Don't I WISH I was heading south. Alas, this po' boy is stuck up here in snow country for the duration. Just as well my scooter's no trailer queen.

Not much to tell really. I was clearing away the snow I took off the roof. The banks were getting higher and the loader couldn't reach over the top any more so I was driving up on them and pushing the tops over with the loader bucket. Just found a soft spot I guess. Loader frame and front axle were buried. Used the loader to dig down till I found enough support to hold the front end up then had to clean most all the snow out from under the tractor with a shovel. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gifAfter that she back right out no problem. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

BTW check out this month's Rider. They show all the bikes for the police and gov't use. There's a USMC M1030D1. Its a Kawasaki KLR650 converted to run on diesel. /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif
