I put on a set of my winter gloves and tried to activate the touchscreen switches on my official RPi display- no lucky. NBD. I still plan to try it out for now on Snowzer. I see there are several 7" resistive displays available for almost the same price ($70). Maybe I'll buy one down the road and try it. I may also add some buttons to control the wiper motor.

You are reminding me why I'd not use a touch screen. Go outside to get some work done, oh gee, these gloves don't work on the screen.....

I've been working on the storage/tool boxes at the rear. I still need to add the magnetic catches, gaskets and pulls. I was thinking of adding an engine turned finish to the sides - think it would look sweet?

I like how you took the sharp corners off the box sheets. That is something I'd do.

I finished the engine bay hood with the installation of two gas-assist struts and led maintenance lighting. Note the red micro-switch under the left strut to turn on the lights when the hood is lifted.

I spent the last couple of days wiring the light system in the cab. If the weather starts to break, I'll be taking it out for its maiden voyage. :licking:

Your gas springs are on upside down. Trivial fix though. There is a bit of oil inside to lubricate things. It sits in a puddle at the bottom being useless if the rod is up. If the rod is down it sits on the seal/bushing where its needed.

Not sure if they would be level most of the time, but they can use any help they can get.

Thanks for the knowledge. This is the first time I've used them except on my cars. I will reverse them.

While I have never used conveyor belt for an application close to this, we have sold it to countless grain and aggregate facilities. You can expect up to 3% stretch in the length of your belt, i noticed you only had 3" of travel and with 3" stretch you can eat up your 6" of belting fast. just something to consider.
