Getting my big boy fixed up just pulled the engine for a rebuild the old Perkins had injection pump failure and over revved killing a couple piston rings. With 12,000+ hours on the clock gauge quite years ago at 12,000 it was bound to happed. Tractor is a Massey 40B backhoe loader.

Now that's a serious rebuild!!!!! Are you just doing the engine, or will you be going through everything? Are parts easy to find?

Eddie I am doing complete engine rebuild. I figured I will put new seals on input shaft on transmission and new throwout bearing. Its an old farm backhoe that sees light use. It only took me and dad four hours to get it broke down to this point. Parts have been available from a local tractor shop with everything I have needed so far being in stock. Its a Perkins 4.203 engine so all the rebuild stuff was a click away from eBay.

I am always working on one of my farm tractors for one reason or another. I buy and fix up older ones for use around my farm so I can save cash. Just a few things from this month. My F250 is the biggest workhorse and reliable. The backhoe had to be moved over to one of my dads shops that has a 12 foot tall door so we could work inside I normally don't haul it with that setup.

Finished the rebuild a good while back so here is a picture all back together. Put a couple hundred hours digging stumps since it was finished. I also rebuilt the front bucket where it was bent on top it was cut out and square tube added

Very nice work! Can I ask what type/brand of paint you used on the Massey?

Yes HCJ that was me. I used Magic paint sold at tractor supply on the Massey. I never used valspar tractor paint but hear its a better paint and I know they make paints for John Deere
