There is no drag and it is turning fewer RPMs at highway speed than most new cars today do at idle. :) How sweet is that (Yes, I still remember)! :D

Dougster

My 2001 6-speed just took me to Montana and back. 79 mph on cruise, 30.8 mpg average. Amazing technology.

You know Brandi you are liable to get that king crab long before Doug ever gets his free lunch.

Wait, belay that, I just drunk the Sangria. We would have had the crab tonight, but I was on the Big Red Beast till dark. If I could only get up before noon.

Well, you all just wait until I hit the lottery! :) That's gonna change everything! :D I'd put some gas back in the Vette again just so I could drive it back and forth to the bank!!! ;) And I'd have 7520's lined up out front like cord wood... one for each day of the week!!! :p A baby blue one too in honor of Brian out there on the Left Coast! :D

Heck, I might even build Ed his big ol' fancy steel barn for free... just so I can make sure mine is 50% bigger!!!

I'm just kidding of course. I have no clue why it's taking so long. It was supposed to take two weeks and now it is almost four weeks. Woodbury was supposed to check on it, but they haven't called me back yet.

Look at the bright side: My Tiller's PTO drive came in! :) And just as soon as I can get my truck and trailer out of my driveway past that pile of loam and up to Merrimack, I'll actually be able to use it! :)

Dougster,
Sorry to hear about the delay in you getting your thumb cylinder. :( More and more I keep thinking about seeing if someone can give me a package financing deal on the complete Bradco hyd. thumb kit and a grapple from local Rakesales.com
How much was that KK tiller? So you finally got the shaft?

The one in my garage *is* an old C5 Dave... or did you mean the current C6???

And let me tell you: Either Vette is an economy car compared to the gas-guzzling Chevy Silverado 2500HD. :( But none of the above can compare to my trusty "ARE"!!! :)

(ARE = Ancient Rusting Econobox)
Dougster,
That's the problem, your a Chevy man. :( Bet that ARE is a Chevette.;)
You need a diesel Ram. Do they sale them up there?
hugs, Brandi

:( You are right. I've been away far too long. Funny how you lose a foreign language if you don't use it enough.

Yes, if all goes according to plan and I am able to have the Red Beast maneuver the 20-ft equipment trailer out of my driveway past the 20-yard pile of loam (dumped by the town in the street)... I will get up to New Hampshire today to pickup the tiller and get the shaft as well. On sale, the entire 72" KK tiller with drive cost $1,299.00. No sales tax in New Hampshire either! :)

BTW, I noted yesterday that this pile of loam they dumped right in my trailer's "flight path" is the very last one on the whole street. Originally, there were 7 or 8. Now there is just one left... untouched and just sitting there throughout the Labor Day weekend and probably longer. Guess whose driveway they chose to block???   Oh yeah, the trouble-making guy with the two trailers!!!   Who else???

No clue on why the Bradco thumb cylinder is taking so dang long. Bob Wolff was supposed to call or email back with an explanation last week, but never did. I am not a happy camper since I could drive to the local Bradco distributor in 75 minutes and get one myself... 'cept the distributor does not do retail business. Now it is 4 weeks and Labor Day is here. Guess I should have ordered the Prince alternative cylinder right away after all. I'd have had it by now and saved half the cost. Just the "luck" of the poor old Dougster. :(

Don't blame you for wanting to do the hydraulic thumb and grapple right, even at a much higher initial cost. It makes sense for the 6520 and you already have a supplier you trust. My "reach back over the fuel tank and work the remote lever" approach is perfectly easy & workable on the 4110... but I would never recommend it for models I hadn't personally tried.

No it is NOT a Chevette. That would be a huge step UP in prestige from where I am right now.

While I love the look of the Dodge Ram... and even tried to buy or lease a beautiful Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab in my previous life... my GF's brother talked me out of buying a Ram 2500 for the business. He had huge transmission problems with his right after the warranty expired and never quite forgave Dodge for that monster expense. I was also influenced to go GM by my daughter's BF's family who had long been in the snowplowing business. Their recommendation for plowing was GM all the way.

But in the end, it was ride and economics that governed. Of all the 3/4-ton pick-ups I drove, the 2006 Chevy 2500HD rode best (actually, least worse) and cost the least to buy. At the time, a brand new diesel of any brand was entirely too expensive and out of the question. I shopped for used, but really didn't have much luck.

funny how different areas use equipment. Out here, most run Dodge or Ford,, Not many GM amythings. I like my DOdge 3500. All I need now is a much longer trailer than I have, With the new hog mower, I can't get tractor and mower loaded,, Just too long and can't fold up the loading ramps... Some day, I may be able to move up into Dougster's class :)
