OK, new question. My All Purpose Ford Tractor manual indicates that the S-O-S differential requires 11 qts of fluid. I check the fluid at the inspection plug and it was full. I then drained the fluid, and it appeared to be about 2-ish gallons. I began refilling the fluid, and it started to weep out the inspection hole right at 8 qts.
That seemed odd. So I came inside and double checked my manual, yep 11 qts for the S-O-S, 8 for the 5 speed. I just assume that the plug was there for the 5 speed. So we added 3 more qts. But it my mind that seem a tad odd. Was doing some more checking and in my IT manual F-04 it says all S-O-S require 11 qts, except the RowCrop it requires just 8. What am I risking if I leave those 3 qts of fluid in the diff?
