My mini dozer build

/ My mini dozer build #51
Here is my latest project. Spent most of a year at it. Has been very satisfying. Engine is 3 cyl. Kubota 20 hp. Drive is fully hydrostatic from a wrecked Massey swather I had given to me. Drive motors are 29 cu.in orbit motors from Princess auto. Brand new mini excavator tracks the single largest expense in the project. Didn't keep track of total time or expense but must be 1500 hrs and 5 or 6 thousand dollars by now. Any parts that could possibly be plasma cut I did on my 4x8 ft. Cnc plasma table including front idlers, rear drive sprockets and track rollers. Total weight might be 1200 lbs. Just guessing though. Top speed is close to 5 mph. Planning a 6 way dozer for it yet to. I'm very new at posting this kind of a thing so please bear with me.View attachment 692193View attachment 692194View attachment 692195View attachment 692197

Sorry for all the confusion of posting!
I've put on probably 12 to 15 hours now doing various dozer projects with quite a few trips back to the shop for warranty work. Over all I'm more than happy with my project. It exceeds my expectations by quite a ways. My aim from start to finish was a machine that would do serious work of course with limitations of a 20 hp diesel. It will get behind a yard or more of loose dirt and just walk away with it. There will need to be a few more revisions yet. For one thing they frame push points will need some rebuilding and probably other things yet to.

Awesome fab skills. Keep an eye on the 4 bolt flange bearings. We use a lot of em at work. When our operators are loading and unloading rolls if they bump into the the shafts supported by the bearings they have a tendency to crack the housings.

What are some other / better options? (if any?) A two-bolt pillow-block is more fragile? Asking, not saying.

Just a pin and dom* pipe as the bearing. Of course with a grease zek.

Pin and steel bushing is what I plan to do.

Interesting. How high of RPM would that be good for? Asking for a rototiller type design. Thanks!

I agree with what was mentioned. Pin and bushing like they use on tractors, skidloaders and other equipment.
