Suggest drilling a small 3/8 hole close to the pipe to see how far that down the foam shown around the pipe, then if its under 2" either keep drilling out the concrete or get a 3" core bit like this https://www.amazon.com/Drilax-Diamond-Concrete-Masonry-inches/dp/B07L2H1PLF

You would need to cut the drain pipe to do this, but they make deeper 3" coring bits 8" instead of 3" deep so you would not need to cut the pipe as low.

We are on a slab. Walk in showers. No doors or steps. Required accuracy when buryin the plumbing prior to concrete. 1/2" drop at the drain then slope the slab toward it. Large shower is 4x7. Small shower is 4x5. Best showers we've ever had.
We did this too. I love ours, however we recently stopped using it because the water sealer I put directly on our slab failed and started to peel up. What did you seal your slab with?

Richard, when you watch that FlowFX Video, do you think there is enough "give" to connect to his PVC that is 6 degrees off plumb?
Let me watch that and get back to ya.

Dang it, my memory is as short as,,,,. I'll hafta get back to you on our sealer. Ours has not peeled up. We are 4 years in. Last year I cleaned and resealed the floor. We have actually began to wear thru the stain in the main shower. That's my fault for waiting too long. But we've had no problems other than discoloring.

Gary (Gary49) and Dennis (Buckeyefarmer) both came over and helped me out today. Gary brought some big tools and a lifetime of experience and we drilled out the floor carefully and avoided the pex.
The shower floor, with tile will be about 2.75 inches above the bathroom floor. So an easy step over the shower curb and. Having someone there with experience was a game changer.
Later, buckey helped me assemble a three cabinet run in the kitchen. Tomorrow I expect to have all the cabinets installed. pretty good stuff.

I cant say thank you to you guys enough.
