When copper leaks, it leaves a mineral build up. This leak has been going on since the house was built ten years ago. It is a very slow leak, but eventually it destroyed the sheetrock on the ceiling beneath it.

Another issue iis there should not be a manifold in the attic. Leaks happen at connections. PEX should run from A to B without any sort of break in the line.

At first I was like: "why does he have a water pipe out in the snow??"...

Are manifolds allowed by code inside a wall for just that reason?

Not any different than having 2 tees.

Guy I work with found a power panel inside a wall, dry walled over. He tripped a breaker and couldn’t find any tripped. He had just bought the house, his real estate agent got ahold of the previous owner, who shows him where to cut a hole to find the panel.

That would sure make me wonder what else was hidden.

David, You really need to get a grasp on the order of operations. Think about it from the house's perspective. What "rules"? Well gravity is pretty unshakable. Drains/vents require gravity. And big things. Big things rule too. If you are running ductwork at all (and it sounds like you may not be), well that is pretty inflexible, as it needs a lot of space. PEX is like pulling wires - it is easy. You can go around obstructions or reroute as needed. Drains/vents will not brook that challenge. They will puke on it and you will pay the price. Your best bet is to get the drains and vents set first, then come back and do the PEX. Same with duct work. Do all of that first before you get to the "easy" stuff like pulling wires and PEX. Start with the least flexible items and end with the stuff that you can work around issues more easily.

Just like materials. Don't pick the paint first, pick it last. You can make paint any color but stone or tile are much more limited. So you pick them first and then pick paint to match. Think about the constraints, and handle the most constrained items first.

Distig, you make a great point on the vents. I’ve been putting them off but I’m reaching a point where they cant be avoided any longer.

I thought I had posted a link for those last two videos here. Often when I am dropping a video, it is chaos. For that last one, started the upload process at 8am on wednesday. When Infinished my wirkday at 6 it still wasnt done. I drove to the build and worked on the drywall in the mechanical room. It finished while I was working on the screw holes. I went into the office the next day and I dropped it about an hour after getting to work. I was drinking from a fire hose right about then so I didn’t even think about the video again till I was at lunch.

We put up OSB and drywall in the Mechanical room last weekend so I can get the pex manifolds arranged and connected. Jefanna was painting the rooms and I was putting up stud plates. It was 88 degrees inside and the heat got to me. We had to leave early. I came home and drank a few quarts of water and slept for a couple hours. Today should be much nicer weather with a high of about 80. My son will be here today, on leave from the Air Force so I will take some time off to spend with him.
I have another video prepped to drop later today. I had planned to drop it yesterday morning but it didn’t finish uploading till about 5 last night.
