The barn's looking great. I wish mine looked half that good. Some day...

Said it before and I'll say it again. Very nice.

Where did you get your stall doors from? They look just like the ones on Horse Stalls by Woodstar Products, Since 1977 called classic carriage style. Is that where you got them or did you make them.

Your stalls and barn are beautiful. I look forward to seeing the "completed" pictures.

Thanks! I built them from scratch, but I'd seen Woodstar's doors in the past, so I can't take full credit for coming up with the arch-top design. We thought the curved top would help to break up all the right angles and horizontal lines. It added a little bit of extra work, but it really wasn't a big deal.

Besides costing a fortune, standard stall doors from Woodstar and most other places are only 7' tall; we wanted full 8' doors for added head-room when leading horses in or out of the stalls. I also made them a little thicker (2 1/4") than standard doors for extra strength. When all was said and done, I think I put about $42 in materials in each of the five doors (not including latches or rollers).

I think there are some pictures in this thread from back in the January-February time frame where you can see some of the action shots of the door-building process.

Didn't you do a thread just for the doors? Or am I thinking of something else?

I can't believe that the materials only cost $42/door. That's great. I suspect that when I eventually get to doors, mine will be much more expensive. I'm currently planning on making a hinged wall with a sliding door built into it.

 Yes, I suspect yours will be a little more than $42 apiece. I never really added up what each outside door cost me, but it was probably around $120, again not including the hardware.

My current plan is to build something like this, Horse Stalls.com Modular, Portable Horse Stalls., but made custom length to fit the stall openings and hinged so that the entire stall can open for the tractor to have access for cleaning.
