My fuel is stuck on high

It's really cold here in Indiana. I scraped snow off the driveway yesterday. Everything was fine.
Then some one was stuck last night on the hill. So I brought a load of gravel there. I turned it off.
When I restarted it the fuel was on really high, almost to 540.
When I turned the fuel throttle down nothing happens. I can go up and down with the throttle nothing happens. It remains really high rpm.
How do I fix that

Have you checked to see where your throttle lever is attached and if it is still attached? Maybe snow or ice detached it somehow

I'm going to go out and look. It was late last night when I got in.

Frozen cable? Can you warm the unit up for a few hours and see if it thawed out?

Do you have someplace where you can heat it overnight? As somebody else suggested it sounds like you have ice causing your problems.

Is the engine actually reved up or is it just the gauge showing that it is?

If it has an ECM, you have computer issues. If it's mechanical injection, you have a stuck fuel rack or frozen throttle cable. I have no idea what you have as I'm not familiar with any MF tractors.

I know how I fixed my old Case, but that electronic stuff is above my pay grade.
