So. I have to ask ...... Did it stick in the bed when you dumped it or there was enough of a dump angle?

You are almost correct Bandi, Those axles are called a Walking beam axle. I have the same set up on my dump. From what little I have pulled it arround the yard empty they do work great!!! Can't wait to get it loaded and into the woods to build snowmobile bridges!!! :licking:
Have you tested it loaded to see if your tractor has enough hyd to lift it when its full? I have a 12volt power pack on mine and thought about putting "T's" in to let me use my rear remote on the tractor in case the battery goes dead. I have not done this yet. I am not sure my B7510 would have enough hyd to lift it full, it should hold about 2 tons, 4'x6'x1.5'

i haven't tested it loaded yet, but i think im gonna go out and try it on my top soil pile right now because now you have me thinking. :) although i did raise it a little bit when unloading the kubota and it picked it up like it wasn't even there and the specs say it weighs between 8 and 900 pounds.

At 2500 psi, that cyl will push 12 tons. He will either lift of push the frame out of shape with that much force.

banditbooker

Just what is the angle of the cyl to the base line?

tried it, as you can see it has a pretty good load on it. it pulled around nicely but when i went to dump it i needed to actually help it get started. i think the cylinder is at too flat of an angle. it may be alright with a lighter load, i don't plan on loading it that heavy all the time. when i get the tail gate latch on it i will also be able to load it more towards the rear which should help a little to, not much, but maybe just enough. and of course, the dump angle is plenty and the load came right out even though it was just dry topsoil. overall, im still pretty happy with it, but if i were to go back and do it again, i would put bigger tires and axles on it, not only for the weight, but to also raise it up a bit off the ground so it makes a nicer pile, and i would also make the cylinder start angle a little steeper. its not perfect, but i'll get good use out of it.

the starting cylinder angle is 6.71 degrees. J J

here is a pic of how it all started. its not exactly what i built but the changes i made in the build process were minor. which include the width and the bed side designs.

Nice build. However, I would upgrade the trailer to spring axles, and wheels. One other small comment is the hose supports on the frame. It look home made, but could be wrong and probably have sharp edges, and will chaff the hose.

I wouldn't worry about springs. None of the farm equipment I grew up with had springs under it and it hauled fine. To me it would just be adding another failure point.

From what I can see of your walking-beam suspension, it shouldn't be a big problem to make a longer beam to put bigger tires on it.

Even with your 20-20 hindsight comments; I'm still impressed with what you built.

Did you make this Dump 600rider?

I was following this thread because I am looking to buy or make something I can use both behind my Kioti CS2410 and pull it on the road for picking up stuff. So while I want it small, I also need the tires and axles road legal.

Sorry BanditBooker, I just saw your question. Yes I have been to Z&M Ag in Endiboro, when I had a JD..........many many times for parts!!LOL I actually bought a Ford 1310 for the previous dealer that was located there by the name Sid Kuhn and Sons. They were a Ford/New Holland dealership. Z&M is quit a big Dealership with several locations in Western NY. I am not familiar with Krietz rd. Is that North or South of Edinboro?
