Went to my dealer to pick up parts and service manuals I had them order for me and no tractors, no literature, holy cow.
They said a new dealer sales rep for the northeast have been poor in response and Kioti wants them to stock too much inventory.
They had certainly more tractors on display when I've been there in the past, moreso than Mitch's repair in norfolk, ma and also freeman's in connecticut and also Kens in Keene, NH when Ken still owned it. So they dropped Kioti and Kioti did nothing for them.
Mitch's in Norfolk is gone and the guy from my dealer said Freeman's in CT is having similar thoughts.
For reference, my dealer (now former Kioti dealer) is Harvard Power Equipment in Harvard, MA
My dealer will still get parts and take care of me -- the mechanic is really good.
It's too bad... Options for me are Bobcat of boston or Pats power in RI.
There's also Freemans as long as they are still in it, and Orchard hill equipment out in belchertown, ma, but that's a bit of a haul.
He also told me competition from Toreku Kubota right up the street and a JD dealer about 10 miles away have made it tough.
They said they're going to take a look at New Holland and see if NH will be more reasonable for them.
Another comment he made was something about the Grand L from kubota being a strong price point and the cab on it is thrown in whereas Kioti doesn't have a cab to offer for a similar machine or it's more money or something along those lines. I guess he was trying to say Kubota is competing with a lot of success...
Not sure how much is truth versus possibly other issues... it's simply too bad. He was also saying if the bobcat machines were orange instead of white, it would promote the brand more and help existing Kioti dealers.
Disclaimer: None of this is my opinion and any of it could be wrong -- I'm simply trying to remember with as best accuracy as I can what he had to say about it. Personally I kind of tend to agree that if the Bobcats were orange it would help people know about the brand better. Everyone on the street does indeed think my tractor is a kubota until they look at the decal on the loader...
