As some may remember my Post in January 'My ck25 HST stalling' , I tried the increase in rpms; it seemed ok after that but I still insisted the dealer check the pressure in the HST. The dealer's mechanic was here the day before yesterday and did a pressure test on the transmission and got 3700psi, he says he was given the specs from Kioti that should read 4200psi. He agreed that it appeared lacking some HP. He said "it seems like it might be getting some air somewhere".
I recall someone here had a similar problem with a CK20.
What I am looking for is for some feedback from anyone who may have encountered a similar problem and how it was fixed. Or possible suggestions.
Down on each side of the top of the transmission (one side reverse other forward) there is a double spring (one inside of the other). He said on the Masseys (that only has a single spring) the company recommends shims which would be the equivalent to 100psi per shim.
He is going to get back to me on wether it can be repaired or not.
Any & all input invited. This, I think would be an education for everyone, It certainly is for me. Thanks

Kevin

Get in touch with "GeTut" he was the one who orignally had the problem and had the problem corrected by a Kioti mechanic. In one of the other threads there were a couple other folks who noticed the same problem, not sure what the outcome was with those folks.

The CK25/30 should have 280 bar / 4,060 (approx. according to an engineer at Daedong) psi pressure at the pressure relief valve. The dealer could: shim the spring plug, replace the spring plug, replace the whole PRV. I'm not sure why he's saying there seems to be air getting into the system. Did he say what indicated that to him.?
Rest assured that this CAN be repaired, and it doesn't take much. John

Thanks Bob.

John,
He said he found the pedal jumpy while trying to gain power.
When you say "The CK25/30 should have 280 bar / 4,060 " , what does that mean in more simple terms - sorry, it's relatively new to me ?
Is it the same amount of psi for both ck 25/30's ?
Thanks
Kevin

280 bar is = to the 4,060 psi pressure limits where the pressure relief will activate. If you're below that, the tractor will go into relief too soon. The pressures are the same for both models. The CK20 is 240 bar.
The way the test is done can be important to the results. Did he lift the rear tires off the ground, hook up the pressure gauge and operate the treadle pedal to get the reading?

Thanks John,
He wedged the snowblower against the edge of my concrete walkway and turned the bucket upside down into the pavement so it wouldn't move in either direction. Then he pressed the hst pedal forward as far as it would go with the pressure gauge attached and did the same in reverse. I think he said it should have stalled but it didn't. He said he was going to contact Kioti and get back to me and that he may have to come and pick up my tractor to take it back to the shop (3 hours away) because it also had a small fluid leak (just a couple of drips a day) in the bottom of the transmission, nothing major. I still do not regret buying it.

It sounds like the dealer is going all out to make sure you get the proper fix. Please be patient as it sometimes takes Kioti a little time to get back to the dealers as they have a lot of new techs in the service department, and about 250 dealers to help.
All of this is warranty work, so you won't have to cover any of it. That's the good thing. John

What was the final outcome? I am having the same issues with my brand new CK20 4 hrs on it. TLB pacage.

gee whizz John.....I am not an kioti owner yet, but I'm still not sold on the HST, still putting my money on the GEAR. But I will contined to read and listen to you, and all the others information.......I think all brands have there days at times.

Absolutely true.

No brand is perfect, but what you may find is that each brand has a couple exceptional tractors in their line up and each brand has a couple that are simply lacking. But even the exceptional tractors can have problems.

Just to keep you all up to date - I haven't heard back from my dealer yet. I'll give him a call this week and let you know.
Don't get discouraged about the HST; I believe it all boils down to what it is you want to do with your tractor. This I think is only minor detail. I love my Kioti and the HST for that matter, I just want to make sure that I am getting the most out of what I got, regardless I am still happy with it.

I'm sure not trying to talk anyone into HST. Nothing wrong with gear drives, and they keep going when an HST hits relief. I still like my HST, but I could use any plain gear or shuttle shift just as well. I simply like being able to just push with the foot while both hands are busy with wheel and joystick. That's the only advantage for ME. John

Well here it is guys. A long awaited follow-up to my original post. My dealer (Proudfoot Motors, New Glasgow, N.S.) came to pick up my CK25 and take it back to the shop (3 hour drive each way) 2 weeks ago to address my concern with lack of power . Although I had nothing to compare it to (I never owned a tractor before in my life) it just didn't seem right - just a hunch I guess. Well my hunch was right. After the mechanic relayed the information to Kioti , the mechanic tried different suggestions from Kioti to try to resolve the problem and in the end Kioti shipped a new HST transmission to replace it.(under warranty)
Spoke to my dealer today it is all together, working great and ready to come home ! Although it took a while to resolve based on a hunch it was worth the wait. Lookin forward to some more seat time. Kudos to Kioti and Brock Proudfoot (and his mechanic - Dick) of Proudfoot Motors. Can't get any better service than that from a dealer 3 hours away.

I don't know how to post a link to the original thread. But if you click on kiotikevin it will take you to my profile and click on 'all users posts' go to January 19th and you will see 'My ck25 stalling'. By the way - I got 2 1/2 hours seat time doing some landscaping yesterday. Works like a charm !
