Have you thought about hooking up the radiant floor to a solar water heating system? I've been thinking about that for my barn -- a simple collector that circulates anti-freeze through the floor when the sun is shining. Minimal operating costs and nothing beats a warm floor to work on. Not sure how warm it would get though.

Beautiful design. Love to see things like that transom. Store that one away for future reference! Agree on the support columns. They just take away so much space for such a little column. Oh if we could just all go back and get a few do overs
