I went to Kamicks. So far so good!

Funny thing, I was shopping for a boot jack to help get my muck boots off the other day and they didn't know what the heck I was talking about. I thought everyone knew what a boot jack was.

I am making them per order for my son who is giving them away to his hunting buddies and some of his clients.

Dad made me one years ago when I really did not need one, now that I am older and not as limber, I should be using it, but wife does not like the clutter of too many things by the door...

In the pacific northwest Muck boots are very popular. When LaCrosse ceased USA production of their steel toed high top milker's boots I fretted and resisted the new then Muck products. I have worn them for years now. I get two or three seasons and buy a new pair. There are three or four different sole configurations that seem to do the public real well around here. I think they are a real good boot. Friends say their Boggs are real good for a couple dollars less.

Isn't that the truth on both accounts!

Here in Maine the Muck's are the best. Ok, they only last 2-yrs. in the brush but they fit and are warm.
if you ware wig-warm socks.

Regular lacrosse-type rubber boots don't really compare to Muck boots. They work great for what they are, but you can wear Muck boots all day. If you did that with rubber boots your feet would be soaked in sweat. Also, Muck boots are much warmer and more comfortable.

First of all... even though it doesn't really matter... it's Bogs not Boggs. Started in 2002 Eugene, Oregon. Do like them. I don't the history of Muck but here are the Muckmasters that I absolutely love. YMMV. It really boils down to your specific use. Water, muck, warmth, comfort... haven't found better. Haven't snowed in them though but they are warm with proper socks.

I would never buy footwear or any clothes for that matter without trying on... well maybe underwear excluded. But Mucks for me run small. I'm an 11 tennis shoe but 12 boot with big socks.

I guess I am a Muck fan;I have at least six pair and wear them year round.I have three pair dedicated to hunting(three levels of insulation),the rest are work or leisure.I have extra wide size 10's feet and have a hard time finding anything that's comfortable;Mucks work for me and for sure are not the most durable. If I tear them ;Goop is my repair.

You sound like you work for the company! :D But I have to agree, I am a fan too.

There seem to be a number of different versions of Muck Boots. Which is a good version for light ag use? Also, what's the story with them mentioned earlier? I can't see to find anything.

Wife trains horses so she is out in the cold and works her clothing hard.

Mucks lasted a season. She would need toe warmers if it was below freezing.

Noble Outfitters are what she wears now. No need for toe warmers and we are on the second winter w the boots. I think they have a lifetime warranty too. Just make sure to buy from an authorized retailer.

Not sure what you are doing with your boots (haven't read all the way through the thread) but I have a pair of Bogs that are going on year ten. I keep saying that I would like a new pair, but mine literally look new still. I use them in the woods, around the yard, and of course all winter up here in New England. I swear by them, never at them. Warmest boots I have ever owned. Matched with Smart Wool socks (name brand only) I can be outside in single digits and my body gives out before my feet get cold. Have tried the Smart Wool with my other boots, and the Bogs with other socks, and I get cold at varying times. Together, perfection. I also walk the dog in them, so I find them more comfortable than sneakers, though heavier. Cushy, good grip, 100% waterproof up to my knees. Stretchy shaft so I can put pants in or out. Best boot I could ever recommend.

Gary: Lots of us have problems with the boots failing after about a year. The warranty is a year. I have had mine for several years, but don't use them that much. Wife would have them fail after a year continually. So switched brands. Looks like you are getting good bang for the buck!

Just buy them from LL Bean. Might be more but If you save the receipt they have a lifetime warranty. I trade in fishing waders every year or two for a new pair when they spring a leak.

I'm on my third pair of mucks. They are crazy comfortable but are overpriced cheap China junk. They don't last at all. My current pair started leaking at seams almost right away. Would love to find a quality replacement not made in China. My lacrosse have out lasted the mucks 3 to 1 but the mucks slide on and off nice and quick for a quick trip to the barn. So they are basically over priced slippers. I grab the lacrosse for now when need to stay dry.

My wife swears by her Noble Outfitters. They have various "weights" of insulation. She has the ones rated for very cold. Says her feet never get cold and the boots are comfortable.
