My little blue tractor has had a quirk with her starter for a few years.
This time, I think it is toast. Light, click ... dead. Then no light, no click ... Paperweight.
I tried to take the solenoid off, to start with the most obvious (already did battery clamps) but it seems attached to the starter ... maybe????
My diesel mechanic got married this April, so he is otherwise occupied .... not to mention his Service Truck is down for servicing. Cobbler's Kids, ya know.
My NAPA is usually good to find the part I need, but the matriarch passed, so they are just lost.
There is a mechanic local that will coume out to the house, but I want to know what I am talking about before I get Mansplained and GoodOlBoyed.
This forum has always been wonderful for information :)

My S373 had similar issues so I replaced it.

This is the plan ... I just do not know if I am over my head
Of course, the F/E Loader arms are down so the access is more limited.
Is it all one piece????

It's pretty dirty but it appears a couple bolts hold the solenoid to the starter. I could be mistaken but if you can remove the retaining bolts and pull it off it obviously was not one piece. It may be a standard part you could obtain through NAPA. If not you could probably easily adapt a Ford solenoid or something similar to do the job, after deciding where to mount it.

A good test for this would be, (after making sure it's in neutral and wheels chocked) is to take a jumper wire from the battery cable post on the solenoid to the tab that the ignition switch connects to. If it just clicks or does nothing, that indicates the solenoid is crudded up. Quickly short the two big lugs with a screwdriver or other tool, see if the starter spins the engine as normal. If it doesn't, the starter itself is probably bad; if it does, that means the solenoid. It looks like that solenoid comes apart; they can be cleaned up with a wire wheel and if the square head copper bolts are eroded where the plunger disc contacts them, they can be carefully tapped out and rotated so the new part faces in.
