Mt 372D no reverse?

I'm looking at a mt372D for little things around the yard. I saw on on cl and talked to the guy. Says it runs good but reverse is not working but forwards are. He said it doesn't grind it just does nothing when you try to put it in reverse. Any ideas on why? Thanks Matt

Never have come across this problem. I'd suspect a problem with the idler gear or shaft.

Yeah, I was wondering if it was a gear or shift fork. But looks like it sold before I got to go look at it. It's ok, I'm going keep my eye out for one with a FEL instead.
