Finally purchased my tractor today and had it delivered.
Been playing on it around the house, will be taking it to the farm for its first real test next weekend.
First question, which I'm sure there will be many more...
Do you all use diesel fuel additive? Like Diesel Kleen or Stanadyne? Every tank of how often... Going to make sure I have no water in fuel issues or anything like that if I can.

I use it religiously in my 250...

Nice....!!!! [ It looks defective, you should haul it up to me in Michigan and let me check it out for you for a few years... NO CHARGE..!!! ]

I use Power Service [ white bottle, mostly black label ] in all my diesels from time to time. Main thing is to keep your fuel tank as full as possible, and likewise your fuel cans. Air in the tanks and temp change condense water into the fuel, and water breeds junk that will plug your filters when it gets too bad. You can't do it 24/7, but any effort you make thru the years will pay off with less fuel related troubles. Buying your diesel fresh at well used pumps is a plus, too... Enjoy...!!!

Took it to the farm two Saturdays in a row, 25 hours of cutting, performed great...very happy with the way my truck hauled the tractor...all in all, total satisfaction as of now.

How do you like that trailer? I've got a 6530 that I can't haul because my trailer's too small. DOH!:ashamed: Then again, I really don't have a need. Nevertheless, I was looking at goosenecks awhile back and saw the Gator brand. They looked pretty nice. How ya like it? Any info you can share?

How much does your tractor weigh? I'm guessing you were right at the upper reaches of the trailer's weight capacity. Do you have the rears on the tractor loaded? BobG in VA

It's really nice... Only complaint I have... The skids don't raise high enough for my liking. The square tube the skids raise up into could be higher so there's better clearance. I've noticed some others that have more clearance, other than that, great trailer.
It's also very hard to find trailers with 8k lb axles so you don't have to go dual tandem wheels.

Tires are loaded putting tractor, loader, and cutter in the 12,000 lb range... This is a 20k treated trailer... I'm not over and I have almost 2k lb cushion right now.
Trailer weighs about 6,200... It's states on trailer I can put about 14,200 on trailer somehow... Not sure of their math.

I know everything doesn't weigh 14,000 lbs so I feel good about it.

I didn't realize you had 8K axles...I've got a 24ft GN (Delta trailer) with 14K gross....the trailer weighs 4500 lbs so I can only (safely) haul about 9500 lbs... my 6000 with FEL and rear loaded tires weighs right at 9200 or so... I've also got a 511 BackHoe..which, by the way, you should look into... great units....I pull mine with a '99 F350 with the 7.3L diesel. I like my trailer....but I love my truck. BobG in VA

You can put that much on the trailer because some of the weight is transferred to the towing vehicle axles. Nice looking set up!
