Im facing a mowing dilemma.

I have a field used for parking, maybe 3-4 acres. It was cut with a bar type mower a few weeks ago, unknown to me, and the grass was left on the ground. The grass is now worthless for hay, due to constant rains we have had in New england.

I need to re-mow this with some type of tractor mounted mower, but not sure what type. A Flail, or rotary mower, I NEED SUGGESTIONS !! I need to chopped it up enough to naturally decompose, and lessen the risk of a brush fire when cars arive for July 4th fireworks.

I greatly appreciate you suggestions.

Finish mower set to about 3" would probably work.

I don’t think a bush hog will do what you need, (chop it up fine)… If you have access to a flail mower it will definitely do it, or a good rear discharge finish mower set low like wushaw suggested… KennyV
