B7510 with R4s
After putting the 60" MMM on my B7500 today (it was easier than I thought it would be for the first time thanks to all of your threads) I can't remember what tractor RPM I should be mowing at. I can't find anything in the manual. I started at 2000 rpm but that seemed slow. I then remebered that last year I mowed with an RPM of about 2500. It shows the PTO 540 at this mark. Is this the correct engine RPM to run while mowing? TIA.

I just hooked my mmm up to my 2200 today just to make sure everything worked ok....the rpm I found best was 2600. Granted I have but a 22hp but it seemed to do the trick.

Are you talking engine RPM or blade RPM?
How do you measure either with the 2200?

Yes.

set your throttle at the 540 pto speed, that should be around 2500 or 2600 rpm.

Hi Rogue:

The BX2200 doesn't come with a factory Tach so I got one called Tiny Tach from a company in Illinois. It is DC powered and has a small transponder that reads the fuel pulse in an injector line. A bit of velcro holds it to my dash. The tach on a diesel is not something you really need to look at like a sports car. I use the tach to set the rpm for the job I am doing and don't look at it until I need to change the speed.
