Snow moving snow w/ loader?

A rear blade with skidshoes works great for snow plowing. The skidshoes prevent excessive digging in (a worthwhile extra $100). Sometimes I plow with my blade in the reverse position (back-blade). This trick can also reduce problems with the blade digging in -it just seems to float better. With a loader and rear blade you handle most any snow removal chore and still get use out of this stuff year round. Also you can attach a blade to the front of your loader if you don't like the idea of plowing in reverse. But even still if money is not an issue, the blowers are very nice.

I'll cast my vote for a rear blade to do the lion's share of the work, and a loader to stack berms. Worked great for me last year (B1700, 300 foot gravel drive, 110 inches of snow/year). Rear blade also helped get all the gravel I pushed onto the lawn back onto the driveway this spring!!

Yes, that's an issue. I used the blower once a half a time the gravel thawed. There were a couple showers of gravel in the lawn, and I finished with the loader. It's a little hard to pick gravel out of the lawn when the blower gives you a 30' pattern. I'll have to remember that if I ever go duck hunting and break my glasses.

I cast my vote for the rear blade and loader. I used mine this winter (Western PA, south of the Lake Effect Snow Belt). I have the B2710 with turf tires, on a 650' gravel (or what's left of it) driveway that winds uphill from the road. I had absolutely no trouble with traction; it moves snow even better going backward than forward. Didn't have a need this winter for loader support, but we have had those kind of winters...

Anyone - what is that slip stuff called again? Never heard of it before but sounds worthwhile. How long does it last before wearing off and where can I get it?
