It isn't "junk", those are spare parts in disguise!

I once worked for a neatness maniac, who couldn't tolerate having unused equipment around, so whenever something broke, which it always did sooner or later, we were dead in the water until the service guy showed up or the part finally arrived. What a waste of time and money. Miserable.
