How thick of a quick attachment mount plate should I get to weld some 5/16 hooks and a clevis onto? I'm going to drag some logs off a pile using a skid steer.

A 5/16" thick QA plate should be fine. I bought a 1/2" thick QA plate for my snow plow to mount to. The 1/2" was not that much more money.

Thanks, I was thinking about the price differences but mostly weight differences. It won't matter much when it's on the machine, but hauling it around during fabrication could be a challenge.

Instead of buying a dedicated plain blank QA plate to weld hooks to why not buy a set of forks for the skid steer and weld your hooks to that frame.

Or why not just weld the hooks to the bucket? Every bucket I own has 3 hooks welded on it center and each end.

I welded my chain hooks onto a 3pt adapter so it can do 2 chores.
