Buying Advice Most Reliable and serviceability

I'm looking to purchase a small track skidsteer, and take it to a warm, muddy, remote location with no service. A long ferry trip away is a Cat dealer, so that is my inclination. I do all service myself (except never changed tracks), and will be taking a diesel class.
Any suggestions? Warnings!
I prefer used due to cost, but machine will have no use whatsoever if broken & I'm unable to repair, so MAYBE finance a new machine???

With being so remote, I'd recommend a demo machine with a few hrs on it. Hope would be that all the new tractor glitches have worked themselves out and you have full warranty. Opt her option would be buying a machine you know nothing about as far as service history and get suprises in the woods. Parts are expensive too

There is a "Construction Equipment" subform here on TBN. It's not as active as this subform, but some of the guys that hang out there may not see your thread over here. I know that cross-posting between forums is generally frowned upon, but you might ask this question there in order to get some responses from more guys that actually use skid steers.
